Sorry if this is a dumb question but would a 5.4" backspace be more outwards toward the outside of car or more inwards towards the gas tank verses a 5.5" BS? Is your rear end shortened?
I currently have a 19x12 on a 5.5" BS with a shortened rear end (have to look at width) and my tires rub on the quarters. need wheels that are more sucked in to the frame.

The more backspacing you have, the more tucked the tire is. So if you're rubbing with 5.5", you'll for sure rub with 5.4".

Keep in mind that these are 11.5" wide with 5.4" BS. Yours are currently 12" wide.
Free bump for a nice set of wheels.

VERY good point. I didn't see they were 11.5" wide. That would put them 0.4" more tucked, and 0.1 inch further away from your inner wheelwell. Sent John a PM in case he doesn't look at this thread again.
