View Full Version : If You Could See One Music Artist Play One Song, Who Would It Be?

Working away here listening to my iTunes library that has roughly 50,000 songs in it and had a question pop in my head.

If you could see one artist/band, dead or alive, play ONE song, who would it be and which song?

It's a really tough question...even myself I haven't come up with an answer yet. The obvious is probably somebody that has passed or a band that no longer plays...I've been pondering this for the last few hours.

Keeping with the theme of artists that killed themselves with drugs and alcohol, I gotta say Layne Staley. Almost any Alice in Chains acoustic song will work.

I think I'm with you - Can I get transported back in time to see his last performance at Alpine Valley?

And he played with Clapton and Robert Cray that nite. Would of loved to been there....not sure if they all jammed together, but i bet they did///

Been to a few G-3 jam sessions, Satriani and guests, awesome!!

Still trying to answer the question though, its a good question.

Saw Queen with Paul Rodgers in 05 at the Hollywood bowl, epic!!
The Who in '00 with Entiwhistle, Daltry, Townsend and Jasom Bonham on drums that was awesome. Saw the Stones twice, very good. Petty being one of my faves, Seen Rush 5 times, Moving Pictures (when it came out and currently, friggen awesome)
Unfortunately most of the concerts i went to in the 80's i was pretty baked....

My biggest surprise concert was the Grateful Dead in '89, wasn't wanting to go, went anyway, and was a great show....

I think maybe for me i would have loved to have seen Pink Floyd "The Wall" at Madison Square or Hollywood bowl, 1980....

I just bought tickets the other day for "Get the LED Out" they are a LED Zeppelin tribute band and are fantastic, seen them last year and was amazed with their talent. If you ever get the opportunity to see them, I highly recommend doing so. Tim john---

He's somebody I've always wanted to see. He comes around enough, just can't ever seem to make it happen.

Wow, that's a great question. Stevie Ray Vaughn-Life by the Drop. It amazes me that a guy known for his flaming guitar, his best work, IMO was an acoustic song.

Marty Robbins, El Paso. What a song!
I've been very fortunate to see Springsteen play Backstreets on concert. That's right at the top of the list.
I could go on but you said just one artist/song, right?
