I would also touch base with SW down in Austin @ Elite Motorsports, he might have good connections with some shops in that area for various services. Not to mention he's also just a good guy to know. Austin is only a couple hour drive south of you and is a super nice town.

American Body Works is doing some good stuff in the Dallas area. One guy is a member on here and they just fired his Turbo C10 project "American Dream"

Shop:

The C10 thread (needs updating badly but he's actively updating on IG and Fbook).

The monkeys make me ill, I stopped watching.

Depends on what you want done and your budget and timeline.
Rodney's got a nice place, did want I wanted done. I posted pictures of my car from the time it started at his place to when it went home on his site:

He does more mechanical, has someone really good he works with for engines, and has people come in to do specialty tasks like interior and glass. I did all the disassembly and am doing assembly now. Just had them do some of the mods to the body, body work, and the paint. They are a small shop and work progresses slowly, but I had no issues.

Another vote for Rods Car Craft, very happy with the body work he did for me.

Vastines Paint Garage for paint & body needs. He also works w/RPL Customs on multiple projects. Roger @ RPL is a parts dealer, fabricator, interior guy, & top notch builder.

They're both in the Rockwall/Royce City area about 30mins East of Dallas. Google the names for some pics of their work.

Customs and Hot Rods of Andice is NORTH of Austin — so wouldn’t be that far of a drive from you.... and they build some pretty nice stuff!!! You want a race car — they have them and build them — you want a simple little truck - they’ll do that too..... They aren’t for the light of budget.......

For mechanical, performance and general fab work Anything Automotive in Denton TX and Protouring Texas somewhere in the Ft Worth area. Paint and Body Brian Vastine in Rockwall / Royce city or Rod's Car Craft in Wylie.

Here is Jason from Anything Automotive's shop truck they just finished a few days ago.

So I closed my Pro-touring shop last year and now work for the Comp Performance Group covering Texas. I'm in and out of a LOT of shops now;but since I've lived in DFW for the last 15 years that's where I know the best.

To properly answer your question... what exactly are you looking for? There are some shops that are really good at chassis and fab... some shops that are really good at mechanical... some that are really good at paint and body. Some are very good with classic cars, while some are geared towards modern pro-touring vehicles. Some only build engines. Some are more budget oriented, while some specialize in "no budget" builds. Very, very few are good at all of the above.

Over the past three and a half years I have delivered three painted rollers to Kevin the OP aka qnitro. The last two, a 70 Z28 and a 69 Camaro, won awards at Goodguys. He does a great job of completing these cars. He’s also become a great friend and I should be starting on his 78 Bandit car soon. He is a car building machine.
