Just curious if anybody has any input on the advantages and disadvantages of putting coil overs on the front of my 69 Camaro. I have tubular a-arms and not sure if its worth the extra effort to do coil overs. Especially if I need to change springs, any input is appreciated.

One of the biggest advantages by switching to coilovers is the adjustment. If you're competitive, you can adjust the corner weights for optimal balance. If you're just about looks, you can adjust the height so the car sits more level.
Also it's a bit less weight. Depending on which shocks you have now, switching to say a RideTech coilover, you'd get the advantage of a high quality, adjustable, monotube shock.

To expand the question further, and it's something you may run into if you choose to go with coil overs...what is the advantage of doing a fabricated upper coilover mount versus using a "hybrid" setup that still uses the stock upper spring pocket?

Strength (compared to no mods to the factory mount), and shock length (if the stock mount is cut out & raised you can get a longer shock in there for more travel).
