I've got a new GM crate LS3. I need to change the stock oil pan over to a Holley for my car. Is it ok to reuse the pan gasket or do I need to buy a new one?
Thanks.

Reuse the one that came on the crate motor. You'll need to drill out the 2 rivets.

Exactly what he said. Drill the rivets out and when reinstalling i actually used a thin coat of silicone.

Only put sealant on the 4 corners where the front and rear covers meet the block

Wow, thanks for the replies! I would have never known to do that. Once I get the pan off I'm sure I will see the rivets you guys are talking about (still sitting on crate).
Any good LS books out there to get my knowledge up on these engines?
:thankyou:

You drill the holes before you take the pan off. Undo all the bolts. Tap the pan with a mallet, and lift. You will see where the rivets are holding it on. Make sure you have a razor blade also as you might need it
