My name is Steve. Been a member for a while but never posted much thought I would introduce my self. I live in WI. I am working on a 68 firebird with 455, TKO 600 and 9" ford four wheel disc brakes the car is in the body shop most of the car has been smoothed and its waiting for paint(viper blue) then I can bring it home and finish the detals. Any way I also have a 79 TA driver with a 400 4 spd. When I bought this car and it had no e brake but no big deal. The e brake pedal is not hooked up and gets bumped and slowly works it way to the floor right. Well I was coming up to a stop light pretty qwick and when I went to push in the clutch my foot could not reach it. I looked down to see my shoe lace had looped around the e brake and I could not get loose. I was yanking my foot but it just would not come free. I was starting to panic and realized I could just pull it out of gear and use my right foot to brake. I did get stopped with a lot of tire screeching but man my heart was pounding and I bet guy in front of me must have soiled him self. I am going to wire that pedal at the top before I drive it again and price out the cost of new correct calipers with the ebrake built into them like the factory. How would i have explained rear ending a car at a stop light to the cops  Sorry for the long post I though you guys would get a kick out of my adventure

I moved the firebird to the 3rd body shop a couple weeks ago since the last one was so busy with collision / insurance work they basically told me it would not get any love for a long time. I ended up going to a shop that only does restoration and custom cars. They were just finishing up a nice mustang and had room to fit me in so I went for it. They seem to be making good progress and I am pretty excited. I am having a Photoshop made up to see if the new paint scheme we picked is going to look as good as I think it will. Larry the owner is predicting paint on the car by the first week of October. Here are some pictures as is sits right now. I will be going to the shop every week to take pictures and drop off more money so I will try to update this thread. We have a deal if he keeps working on it I will pay him some every week that way he has income and I am sure the car keeps moving along.
