No disrespect to all the other fine cars out there, but hands down Bob's Cuda is baddest in the land and that has pretty much been the consensus since it's debut at SEMA. When it comes down to Pro-touring style cars, it will be one the that all others will be compared to for sometime. Now when it comes down to Street Rod style cars. Let's talk about that that 55 vert.
Congrats to the well deserved Bob Johnson & the Gang!!

Awsome pics thanks
I just Love that Black Corv Roadster what a cool car :hail:
Bob has the baddest car in the land and the Year One snub will be a mystery to us all so this was overdue.
Bob would have killed no matter who was there but I wish there were more members there to mix up the tri-5 factor in the Top 5. Like Brent said, no disrespect to those guys but the show was a little light on high end g-machines.
And why didn't Bud Brutsman's nasty black Mustang and the red Road Runner make Top 5?
Anyways, had a great time and it was great putting faces with names. Met up with lots of Lat-g guys who are even cooler in person.
Thanks for having a place for us all to meet, Scott!

we got a lot of flack from every other Magazine for having it on there...Alan didn't want it on there on the first place but I thought we owed Johnny and PHR and Indy Cylinder Head for their contribution. Now that it's been seen by tons of people, I had Alan remove it so other Magazines would cover it..

Good talking with you there at Columbus..The Black Mustang and the 62 Vette should have been in there IMHO..I don't understand a few of the choices...

PHR had nothing to do with SMOY this year..Hunkins wasn't even in Columbus..I missed his offbeat humor and watching him chow down..I even brought him a few stogies..

Has the vette not been to any shows recently, Dale had it at the World of Wheels in Omaha in 2005. The car truly has the look and was definitely a top car at the show, just thought more people would have seen it by now.

Alan/Crew/and I all appreciate the accolades and praise everyone has given The Cuda...We are very proud of our accomplishment and it's very rewarding for others to show their approval of what we've done. It feels great to see someone look at the car in disbelief and look at you and say it is absolutely the best car they have ever seen..Not that a car owner or builder needs anyone to confirm what he already knows, but it sure feels good to get others overwhelming approval.

Right back at ya, Bob. Yep, those would have rounded out the Top 5 nicely but we weren't picking, right? See you at SEMA

Congrats again and you think this car looks good you should hear it shake the ground WOWWWWWW. and i over heard Bob mention a very interesting point all the cars in the winners pro pick area, i would say over 80% had air ride, and his dosent! Hell like was mentioned before it didnt even have tire shine on it or the trunk open, just flat out in your face great engineering! with 5" of ground clearance, coilovers and a ton of attidude, way to go I'm a huge Chevy fan but nice to see something otyher than a camaro win although Bobbie Alloways Black Challenger last year was amazing theres alot to be said for a well designed and custom built car that is driven and looks like it can be driven hard with enough subtle changes, to the trained eyed they make the car so sexy ! ROCK ON custom builders

My brother built that car. Didn't have bags on it when we did the suspension, sat almost as low, :) .

sitting low is just part of it..how much ground clearance, and how much suspension travel you have are a big part of that equation..Cuda has an abundance of all three..and it rides like a new Mercedes..

aren't you glad I won..I have kept my composure in the past while losing, but this car was so far ahead of the competition, I would have had to work hard to keep my little bit of cool..Kinda like in Dallas when my 67 Lil John Buttera PU lost Goodguys Truck of the Year to a 70 Chevy pick up that wasn't worth $35K..I had mine sold for $100K and he backed out when it didn't win..I wasn't real happy...but i didn't throw a fit..judges don't think about the loss of value, builder reputation, etc. when they make their picks..They let the winner of Truck of the Year vote on the next years Truck of the Year..maybe I'll ask them to let me vote on the Street Machine of the year next Year..lol

That wagon rode great. Spring rate was just slightly higher then stock in the front.
I did notice your Cuda had a bunch of clearance, more then I expected, .

Year One snub? What happened??
Well, he didn't even make the top three.. I thought the red Nova that placed was nice but it wasn't even close to the same league as the Cuda..
Maybe the word "snub" was bad.. how about "oversight" :)

Gotcha..
Oversight?? That's an understatement. IMO, I don't think Bob needs any trophy's to know just how bad his car is. To know just how well respected it is by the hardcore people who really know what they are looking at would be enough for me.
