Hi Guys, I going to be looking for an angle die grinder and noticed some are 12,000 rpm and others are 20 or 25,000, what's the difference in what they are used for? is one better than the other considering HP is close? Anyone have an opinion I was looking at IR 5102 MAX 0.4 HP & 20,000 rpm or Snap-On (PT410) 1HP 12,000 rpm most likely will be used.

Thanks

What are you using it for?

Rolocs? Get the 410, that thing is a beast and 12,000 rpm is about perfect.....I love mine, best air tool I have ever bought.

25,000 rpm just burns up discs and twice the rpm does not get anything done faster.

I'm picking it up to have at the garage to help make brackets and clean them and other parts up. I'm no fabricator but would like to learn.

I have worn out so many angle die grinders over the years both expensive and cheap ones. Anymore I just buy the cheapest ones I can find.
