40 years ago today she went down on Lake Superior. 29 died when the Witch of November came stealing.

She was about 17 miles from Whitefish Bay.

I read all of the books when I was 15 or so. Had a huge infatuation with the wreck. Been to the museum.

I saw a documentary on it. My brother and I got caught in a freak gale and all I could think of was the Gordon Lightfoot song. It took us 4.5 hours to go less than 3 miles.
