Roof weatherstrip molding install? 69 camaro

I just cleaned all the buytl off my weatherstrip moldings, what a mess that stuff is. Just curious if anyone has any pointers of what to use when reinstalling. I was thinking a small bead of clear silicone? Thanks for the help..
