Anybody got any ideas what can replace the factory fitting? Something o-ring with -AN threads maybe? Really don't want to buy a 50 dollar hose just to cut the end off. 2011 CTS-V engine.....

T,

Earl's make an o-ring to AN 6 fitting. Find out the size, I think they are either 18 or 16mm...I may have both in my tool box and be happy to send it to you.

Turn One used to have one. They are quite helpful when you give them a call. If you are using a rack the pressure of the CTS-V pump may be too high. They can help you there too.

T,

The problem I ran into with the fittings listed is the AN hose end hit the PS pulley.

I went with the Turn One Extended O-Ring fitting.

T,

Let me see if I have one of those. I had no issues with clearance, but that was with C5 accessories.

Thanks Andrew. Let me get it the shop tonight and take out the fitting that's there and verify I'm on the right track. I seem to recall the pulley clearance issue on another LS3 swap I did....I'll get back to you.

Yeah, you are right, just checked, the -AN fitting will hit the pulley, going to have to do the 50 dollar turn one fitting....go figure, sooooo thanks anyway Andrew....knew it wouldn't be that easy...

T,

No worries. I've had this fitting banging around my tool box for 7 years, and if you were able to use it, then it would have found a home.

Any of you that have installed a Hydratech hydraulic brake assist system have seen the neat trick we use first hand, and that is the installation of one of our supplied seat inserts (HBS9106):

http://www.hydratechbraking.com/hose_fittings.html#TXTOBJ7DAB01C0112E3750

This will then allow you to run a tight clearance direct fit 90 degree male hose end such as this Aeroquip FBM1144:

http://www.hydratechbraking.com/hose_fittings.html#TXTOBJ7DAB61B013131F0

16 X 1.5 is close enough to 5/18-18 to make it happen - no cross thread actually occurs.

Or? Go with a low profile banjo fitting:

http://www.hydratechbraking.com/hose_fittings.html#TXTOBJ7DAB01C1119272580

The listing shows a set, though we get calls all the time for just the 16 X 1.5 banjo which we do sell individually at $25. I suppose I really should produce a separate web listing where a customer could buy the banjo's individually (though my current list of TO DO is so damn long already, so call Jim to order)...

I dug around in our database and a close up shot of the direct fit male 90 degree hose end installed into a LS / LSA pump did not jump out into my outstretched arms. I know we have some images somewhere...

Anybody got a pic of our system installed using the Aeroquip direct fit FBM1144 with the brass seat insert handy to show the guys? If so, post it up! Or? Maybe I'll remember where the images are and then I'll post up.
