From another site....
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
At approximately 2:00PM this afternoon (9/8/15), my dad's (Mike Chadwick) Ford truck (License plate 6H42545), racing trailer (License plate 4BD6775) as well as his beloved racecar and all contents within the trailer was stolen right from in front of my parent's house in San Ramon! This car is my dad's lifelong passion and love and we want so badly to recover it for him. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share this post with all of your friends and ask that they re-share for you! The pictures attached show my dad's trailer and racecar as well as his gold Ford pickup truck with the THIEF driving off in it. The silver or pale blue BMW is what this group of 3 THIEVES drove up in. The neighbor snapped the photos as the property was being taken BUT DIDN'T THINK TO CALL 9-1-1 even though they looked "VERY SUSPICIOUS". These THEIVES have a good 2.5 hour start on the San Ramon PD. PLEASE SHARE! Any information you may have can be shared with the San Ramon Police Department - (925) 973-2635 (Ofc. Gardner). The report number is: 15-2624, 2625, 2626

Awful.
I don't know if it would help, but the BMW appears to be a 2001-2005 7 series (probably a 745). Hope you catch these guys.

go to the local news and Facebook. That rig will not be easy to hide and the car will stick out and won't be easy to get rid of. Agree on the 745 and years it also looks like it might have aftermarket rims. Good luck catching these bastards!!

So I'm curious and trying to gather info and knowledge to help avoid my cars and trailers from getting stolen.
How did the get the truck unlocked and started?
Was it unlocked with the keys in it?

He lives about 5 minutes from me. Just saw this on the news. They interviewed the owner and he said that he did not have insurance because he couldn't afford the expense of it? He's gotta have some sort of insurance Id hope

This is San Ramon. I wouldn't doubt that it was left unlocked with the windows down. Residential crime is rare. Yes stuff happens everywhere but Im sure this guy was followed home after a race day.

Is that a tattoo I'm seeing on the guys arm? If so, with photo enhancement, the tattoo artist could help identify. Tattoo artists are very proud of their own work, and around these parts, work closely with authorities when there is a crime committed. This makes me sick to my stomach!
Check out this device fellers...it could easily be me, or you next...

Unfortunately, Ford Super Duty pickups are stupid-easy to steal. They nearly got mine with just a screwdriver. One tumbler in the column kept em occupied until they were interrupted.

I feel bad for the guy but how can you honestly tell me that insurance is too expensive. If you can sink $100,000 into a race car and recently spend $10,000 on your motor than you can surely come up with money for insurance. If I couldn't afford to insure my car after spending that kind of money on it I would be sleeping in it every night with my gun next to me. I hope he gets his car back in one piece.

If you can't afford the Insurance, you can't afford the Car!

Sucks for the victim, Oakland does not investigate auto thefts.

They'll take a report on the recovery and that's about it. They disband the auto theft years ago.
