Such a cool dude. I'll not forget the first time I met him, walking around the shop in his white lab coat, friendly as can be.

Thanks for posting this Rod. I talked to him in the mid to late 90's and was initially impressed he answered his own phone... That impression was soon surpassed by how much I would appreciate his kind and understanding advice.

I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple times when I dropped my old Corvette off at his shop for some servicing. He used to do a lot of the work himself, even at 85+ years old (at the time).
Really really great guy - he'll be missed.

I met Dick at the historic races in Coronado
A few years back. He built the Round Table Pizza
Pantera. Turned it into a race car when it was brand new
in 1972. We talked about the mods and owner. It was cool
to get some info on the car I should have bought
My buddy in Arizona has it now. I told him to call Dick
when he was doing the restoration. Dick was more than happy
To give him some information
