I have a few cheap guns that I have used over the years. They are of the $40 range. I'm ready to step up and get a new gun for base/clear but don't want to spend $1k as I'm not a pro painter. I see that Eastwood sells a Concourse Pro for a fair price. I have an 80 gallon air compressor that I use.

Your thoughts and expert advise?

How much are you willing to spend?

Just starting to look at what's out there. Does $300 get you a good enough tool? $500?

Here is a good quality gun. It really depends on how many times you are going to use it ect. i like the tekna

here is a setup that will allow you to shoot base/clear and primer with the different size fluid nozzles.

it is really about gun adjustment and like anything else experience. if you do not paint alot i would not spend 500-600 dollars for a gun. go to refinishnetwork.com. that is a good site that will be able to help you pick out a gun.

If possible, try the gun out before you buy. They all feel a little different so make sure you get something you like that's comfortable to use. I prefer Sata, but there are a lot of good guns out there.

I have an Iwata LPH-400 HVLP and a Satajet RP Digital. The Sata is like painting with a firehose. I would not recommend it for what you are looking to do. The Iwata puts material on more slowly and I recommend you watch for one on eBay. There can be some good deals. The nice thing is you can resell it for most of what you paid for it.
