I have never been to a "Hot Rod" show as big as Columbus. It seemed like a never ending sea of cars. Lots of interesting builds, very nice home built cars and over the top shop builds. Got to meet lots if nice people. The scene at the Host Hotel was unreal. Lots of nice cars, good people just hanging out.
I got to meet Jeff (Tubbed69) & Cindy Carpenter and got to see their beautiful '69 Camaro. I have to say, I have seen a lot of "home built" cars and have never seen one as nice as this car. I looked at every detail on it with a good buddy of mine who is just as anal as me. It is beautiful. The fit, finish is spectacular. Often times, cars look great in pictures, this one looks better in person. I even took Kyle Tucker to go look at it and his words were: "one of the best home builds I have seen" Jeff, you did a beautiful job!
Met some guys from Cleveland that do those crazy "patina" hot rods. I actually love those cars. Late Saturday night I ended up buying a 45k original mile '69 Impala station wagon! Lol. I left it with a guy named Boris to give it the "treatment" It should be a fun.

I have a "done" '33 Ford coupe that I'm seriously considering tearing apart and making it a "patina coupe". I love them too!
BTW - You'll have to get rid of TWO exotics in the garage in order to park the ONE Long Roof wagon.... LOL

I ditto what SW said about that Red 69 Camaro. It was truly amazing build with great attention to detail. In an earlier life, before I went patina crazy, I would have killed for that car.
Finally got to meet the legendary SW and his awesome buddy Matt. He is even cooler in person, lol. SW it was a true honor to hang with you guys. It literally made the weekend for SW to say the stance and wheels are perfect on the Impala!!
My bro and I are headed to Austin just to hang with you guys in the fall since we don't do AC :) . So glad I was care keeper of the TA for a few years and it is right where it belongs.
As for your wagon-welcome to the club. It is in the right hands and I hope Josh and I introduced you to a new world of hot rodding with that Cleveland crew led by Boris at Street Machinery. He is to stance in American cars as you are to stance in anything you touch. I don't believe for one second that wagon will not be wet sanded, buffed, cut and LS'ed!! Soccer moms in Austin better up their game!!
Brad
PS If you can post a pic of the impala

Took a road trip with a buddy from North Carolina for our first Columbus show and we both agreed that the show was great. Got to see "Big Red" and meet the drive and crew. There were soo many cars.

Boris is a good dude. I have done business with him and my buddy has purchased several cars from him.
