This is the build of the MetalWorks Pro-Touring 1968 GTO. The goat will be powered by a Wegner Motorsports LS3 running MSD Atomic LS fuel injection. The LS will be tied to a TREMEC 6 speed manual transmission. Other goodies will include an Art Morrison chassis, Wilwood 6 & 4 piston brakes, and Budnik wheels.

The 68's body was pretty solid, but we did have to replace a section of the trunk floor...but it didn't take long to get the body into primer.

Hey, that's how it's done on TV. They cut to a commercial break then come back and the car is almost finished. :sarcasm_smiley: :sarcasm_smiley: Love the rendering...keep the pics coming.

Ha ha...yes, "in primer in a single post"...figured I'd spare you guys the countless hours of body work...plus I'm playing major catch up on the build, but wanted to show the overall process.
Here are a few pics of the 68 painted, then undergoing hours of wet sanding and buffing.

Took deliver of a pair of Art Morrison chassis...one for our 68 GTO, the other for a 67 GTO project. Dis-assembled the frame, and put it in a nice coat of black.
WOW....can't wait to see more pics.........this GTO will show :flag2: PRIDE !

The initial engine used in mock up was a LS1, but then we decided the GTO needed a little more punch so we ordered up a Wegner MotorSports LS3 that they warmed over to about 600 hp. We then added MSD Atomic LS fuel injection. The LS3 is backed by a Tremec T56 six speed manual...and the pair is linked by a Centerforce Dyad dual disc clutch set-up.

The LS1 was pulled, and the custom Wegner Motorsports LS3 set into place...besides the MSD Atomic LS fuel injection, we have a host of other MSD goodies planned for the LS3 was well.

Looks great, lots of detail. Where did you get that angled firewall boot for the wire harness? It almost looks like a door jamb loom.
Thanks!

Can you provide a part number for that wireharness boot. I too like the look of that and would like to incorporate that into my project. Beautiful Pontiac. Tim john---

Thanks everyone for watching the build unfold. Once the GTO was completed we were lucky enough to get the amazing John Jackson of NotStockPhotography to come and snap few pics of it. See everyone out cruising!!!
Came out great, guys - nice work!
I am guessing the paint came first while waiting for the chassis to arrive? That must have been a fun task to fit a freshly painted body together for the first time on a new chassis, but you pulled it off! The car looks great in the photos!

We love the MSD efi systems...we install them on the majority of our restorations, and we've had great luck with them. I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for on the breathers, and the GTO is not at the shop currently...hope this image helps.
