So it looks like my schedule has been cleared and I will probably be able to make the NCM event after all June 5th-6th.
Is anyone else from here planning on being there? It's only 3 weeks away and I haven't even started on plans yet!!!

I don't think I'm going to make it and have already paid my entry. I may be looking to sell it if anyone needs one. I used the first time discount so I'm not sure how that would transfer.

Sorry to hear that Mike, hopefully you can find a way to make it or someone to transfer the spot too.
I was just able to reserve an RV site at NCM with electrical hookups. It's where the yellow star is on the map below.
Wanted to let everyone else know electrical hookups and RV sites are ready if they are considering camping onsite.

Did you buy an RV? if so, what did you end up with?

Well... :D We ended up with "custody" of this one for a while.

My business partner bought it and I'm in charge of fine tuning and breaking it in before he heads to Alaska in it later on in June. I'll also get to use it when he's not after he gets back. Not a bad gig huh?
It's a 2005 Monaco Knight, 39' diesel pusher with 15,000 miles on it. The first time I drove it (any RV for that matter) was home from downtown KC in rush hour traffic. Talk about trial by fire! I'm really starting to dig driving it though, it's a nice coach for sure.
Hooked the car trailer to it for the first time yesterday, just to check lights and hitch height...hopefully this week sometime I'll get to pull the trailer around a bit. I'm thinking of taking the whole rig to our local SCCA autocross next Sunday as another trial run. Got to get everything thing ready for our trip to Kentucky in less than 2 weeks.

Um, yeah, i guess that'll do. NICE score. That will get you used to it and more time to shop for the one you'll want to keep long term and search for the best valued one...Nice.

Yeah, I'm really starting to like it lol... We really thought we wanted something smaller and the wife was really freaked out over just how huge this thing is, but I'm really getting used to driving it around and once you get it parked, the extra space inside is REALLY nice.
The power the Cummins has when pulling hills is just an added bonus, can't wait to see how it does with the car trailer behind it.
So far I've upgraded all of the audio visual equipment including the DTV dish on the roof, fixed some electrical issues and some plumbing issues...now I'm working on getting the slide covers replaced and possibly upgrading the backup camera to a color version. They are just like a house really, all kinds of systems to upkeep and repair.

I sure wish I was going! I love Bowling Green. I lived there for one year, then had to move back to Cali...but I still love it. I still own and rent out a house there...about 10 mins from the track.
I'll be back there in September for LS Fest.
I drove on the NCM track a few months back when I was in town. Its a really awesome track...should make for an awesome event!

I haven't booked a room yet and Im thinking camping at the track sounds like a good idea. I just have a tent, no fancy RV or anything, but has worked out ok in the past.

Sweet, are you going to be running your GN with us?
From everything I hear, the facility is top notch in every aspect. I can't wait to see it in person.

Unfortunately no GN. I'll be in a blue C5 Corvette. No camping on the grounds in a tent this year either, I called today and they don't have their shower houses built yet. They said there's still some construction going on and showers are not finished. Sounds like plenty of Hotels nearby.

Day one is in the books... Had a blast, fantastic site, car did great, driver did okay... Day two is just about under way...road course day.
Here are my best runs in the speed stop and autocross, the speed stop isn't that great of a time but I think the autocross was pretty good for my car anyway. I haven't seen the results after the afternoon sessions yet.

I'm glad you're enjoying the event Lance! USCA runs a very good event - and the key is to have fun.
I used to think the Brake Stop was kind of lame (not much more than a good way to flat spot your tires) -- but now that I'm tracking my own cars -- I know for certain that it will show weakness in your cars set up and brakes. So I respect it now.

That particular was a blast with the elevation changes...and going downhill into a stop box even added to the challenge. I slid all the way through the box on my second run and never got over it. Every run after that I stopped too short and left time on the track.
I also didn't get very many runs because Twaits held things up for a while after running out of talent again (his words not mine. :D )
On the road course yesterday I had a vibration on the high speed portions and I'll bet it was flat spotted tires from that slide through the box.
I'm working on the road course video now. Had a good time there too, with a few sobering moments as well. Was a very technical course with no time to relax and it'll bite you if you don't pay attention...or have a mechanical failure. I had a grinding noise at the end of my third session, probably a brake pad or wheel bearing and the car was so dang hot...I didn't even diagnose it. Just put it on the trailer and packed up camp. Something about seeing your friend run from his car on fire on course will add perspective to the whole deal.

Okay, go easy on me...before this session started I'd only had 11 laps at speed on this VERY technical track.
