Ive been on here for a long time but haven't put any pictures of my car up. Probrobly because it is not done. 69Nova asked for some pictures so I thought I would put them up. I have had the car for about 8 years. The whole time I was away in the army it was tucked away at a storage facility in SoCal. As soon as I got out I got it running and signed up for an auto body class at my local comunity college. All I was able to do was sand my hood before my th350 trany blew up on the way to school on the 2nd week. I was kind of glad (dont tell my fiance) because it helped me justify a t56 swap. One call to Tyler at ATS made that very easy. Its no were near done, but it is going together quite quickly and is alot faster than it has ever been before.

My future plans for the car are to use a forced LS2, T56 combo, Lateral Dynamics 3 link, and eather a DSE, 21st Century, or Wayne Due sub. Im going to NC to check out the 21st and DSE in 1 week. Whoever will let me put the widest tires up front. 18-as wide as posible in front. 18-13 in rear. Right now they are 16-8. They were big when I got them. I am aiming at a mix of Street fighter and PT. I love Steve Chryssos's camaro.

Looks like it is coming along nicely man. I'm digging your gauge setup. I have a couple quick questions for ya. I was wondering what the specs of your front and rear suspension are and how much of a drop you are running up front with the QA1's? I am currently setting my 71' up with DelaLums in my stock CA's and a QA1 conversion up front. Def keep us the progress pics coming..... :thumbsup:

Thanks guys. NvrDun71 I would recomend using the global west springs with your QA1's They are not on there web site but the car handles quite a bit better than with the springs that came with the qa1 conversion. Right now it is all the way down. the lock nut is at the bottom. I think it is about 1.5" to 2" lower. you might want to use drop spindles so that your suspension could be a little closer to normal hight with the lower ride height. I am using the stock drum brake spindles but have a Stainless steel brakes corp PBR 2 piston kit on the front. You are going to like the duralum's. I have them on the uppers, Lowers, rear shackle kit and sub frame to body. They really tighten up the car. I don't think the lower arms are that important to have tubular, but I would recomend changing the upers with eather GW, DSE, or speed tech. The rear is 3" DSE springs with a mono to multi conversion that I think droped it even more. In my humble opinion it handles very well.

Hey man i appreciate the info. I was considering the drop spindle but am a little leary of running it due to all the negative feedback they get from most of the first gen f-body guys. However I am a little worried I won't get enough drop from the QA1's alone and will need the spindle to stance the car right w/ the 17's. Did you notice more of a drop w/ the global west springs for your QA1's or was it more of a trade off for improved handling? I have also heard that you don't want to run the adjustment all the way down because of the limiting of shock travel? Have you heard this as well or is it not really an issue. You can't run it all the way down with the stock springs. The GW springs are shorter, yet stiffer. 500 lb in . If I was planning on using the stock sub frame I would get droped spindles. You just need to be careful what drop spindles you go with. I wanted the AFX spindles because they give the drop, improved geometry, a way better hub and bearings, and less unsprung weight. Depending on what sub I get I might still end up getting them. I have heard some bad stuff about fat man drop spindles but don't have any first hand experience with them.

I'll have to look into the GW springs. Man I would love to run the AFX spindles, however I just don't have the money. Wish there was a budget version of them out there possibly out of steel and minus the sensors.....Thanks again for the help.

Sweet! I like the car alot. I like the gauges. My speedo just broke so I may go ahead and upgrade to something like yours. How often do you get to drive the car?

I drive it about once a week or so. It really depends on if I am in the middle of a project on it or not. I usually drive it on weekends when the traffic isnt as bad. Yea I love that it is now an electronic spedo. It is really easy to calibrate and no speedo cable noise. Really easy to use with the T56
