Saw this on ebaymotors. If we made this in carbon fiber, would it sell? Definitely retro with a 911/Eurotrash feel, but probably functional. Thoughts? Opinions?

I think it would be an acquired taste. Maybe making the carbon wing to bolt up to the carbon trunk? I think the investment in time wouldn't pay off in the number of sales. I think carbon fiber first Gen fenders would sell more?

I would rather see something more modern like the BMW CSL style trunk lid.

Hey, I got one of those sitting next to a box with my platform shoes and silk low button shirt. :headspin:
LOL
I'd pass on that.
To be honest, stick with the 67-69 stuff you have now. 2nd gen guys are too cheap to afford the fancy stuff. :peepwall:

Saw one of those in the eighties on the 2nd gen, it brought back that memory. I dont care for it though, so, no for me.

It doesn't look that bad! It's a very nostalgic look though.

I wouldn't reproduce it for sale though. I don't think there would be a market for it. I could be wrong though. Maybe check on the European boards maybe?

I do not think that spoiler would be a wise product investment for a business. Haha.

Don't see it selling to this crowd, but maybe reach out, with this product, to the import guys. They love their carbon fiber as much, if not more, than we do.

As someone who likes older 911s I'm inclined to like it, particularly on the later second gens. But...there's no way you'll get enough people to commit to it to create an acceptable ROI, so I'd suggest passing on this idea. Nice to see you pushing the envelope though.

Still pretty cool. The whale tale that came before the 993TT?
Edit: meant to say, which came first Charley, the second gen or the P cars?

Notice it's on a 1978 Z28.....Google Herb Adams....Cheverra....Herbie went from his Pontiac roots to the Dark Side to promote more product sales back in the 70's. I think he ate some bad mushrooms when he relocated to Monterey....he did a dual pontooned CanAm car during the same time period. The 930 Turbo came state side in 1976.....it's 200 plus HP was big news back then.....those 930s were real "widow makers" downright evil handlers with big turbo lag....then the boost would hit!

I like it. I don't think that there would be much of a market for it in carbon fiber, but I like the look of it. And it appears that it would be functional.
