Hey guys this might be a tool you use everyday but I am sure some people have never seen it so I thought I'd take a few minutes to show you how to easily search Craigslist in other areas.

http://www.searchtempest.com/

Now you can use it in the default mode but you'll find a lot of the posts are deleted or out dated. If you follow the next steps ( you only have to do this once) it will take you too live searches inside craigslist. I have found my last 3 cars using this site. It's a little cumbersome at first but once you get used to it, it is a very handy tool at aiding you in finding cars or parts outside of your local craigslist. Note this doesn't work on mobile devices unless you can have 2 windows open at once.

First open the search tempest link

Then enter your zip, radius of search, what your looking for and check if you want to search titles only and ads once with pictures. Click "search"

It will open a new page with listings but these are the once I was telling you are often old and out dated. Next you need to click this "direct result mode" You'll only have to do this once.

Then click the "open results window" tab

It will open a side window the cities in your search radius, if you have popups blocked you may have to click the first city to open the second window. Then you should have this.

You can scroll down on the right screen and see what's in that city, then click the next button on the left and it will apply the same search to the next closest city and so on. One thing to remember is to NOT close the right window, just use the back arrow.

Also using the shift and button below the "backspace" on your keyboard between words or phrases will search of any of them like this. So this will find me ads titles as 1967 nova, or 67 nova or 1966 nova or 66 nova. A real time saver.

Hope this helps you guys find those cars and parts that are outside of your local search.
