Shims for rear pinion angle

Whats the max amount of shims I should need to run to get my pinion angle to the required 4 deg? Right now I have right about 5/8's and im only at 1 deg.

Are you installing the Torque Arm? If so give me a call because 4 deg is too much.
it is going to depend on your engine angle.
the easiest most basic way to start the set up is equal and opposite angles.
if the engine is at 2 deg down then a good start is 2 deg up on the pinion.
if the engine is WAY down then you will need to raise it. if the drive shaft is running up hill to the pinion then that needs to be addressed First. as it will never be good if that is the case.

It should not be uphill as the torque arm is actually almost perfectly level to the ground.

Correct, but if the output on the trans is lower than the pinion then the DRIVE shaft will be up hill.
and it can't be really out because then the drive shaft will hit the front cross member.
are you using a 12 Bolt or 9"
what trans Cross member are you using
what subframe
what Engine

9 inch rear end I purchased from you all. Stock subframe with an LS engine with the holley swap motor mounts, and trans mounts.

if you have a smart phone. search Tremec and they have an APP that walks you through all the angles. start with that.

then let me know what you have.
you should really not need any shims at the pinion mount.

Ok I will give that app a shot. I still have to get my drive shaft. Just to make sure a 3.5 inch drive shaft will clear everything on the torque arm correct?

Yes it will but it is a little over kill unless you have 700+ hp

I got the drive shaft and I had to run a spacer to get it to clear the torque arm cross member. I tried to use the tremec app but I could not get it to give me accurate readings. I took the spacers out of the torque arm and raised the rear ride height and ended up with about 1 degrees down at the pinion. The trans is at 3 degrees down. The drive shaft is almost level from what I can tell but I can really figure out a good way to get a angle gauge on it. Its too close to the floor to go above it and the torque arm is below it. I may need to get a smaller digital angle gauge.

That is close.
If you can get the trans up another deg you will probably be fine.
Best thing to do is drive it and see.
