A large group of ISIS fighters are moving down a road when they hear a voice call from behind a sand dune: "One Marine is better than ten ISIS fighters".

The ISIS commander quickly orders 10 of his best troops over the dune where a gun battle breaks out and continues for a few minutes, then silence.

The voice once again calls out "One Marine is better than one hundred ISIS fighters".

Furious, the ISIS commander quickly orders 100 of his next best troops over the dune and instantly a gun battle breaks out. After ten minutes of battle, again silence.

The voice calls out again "One Marine is better than a thousand ISIS fighters".

Enraged, the ISIS commander musters 1000 fighters and sends them to the other side of the dune.

Rifle fire, machine guns, grenades, rockets and cannon fire rings out as a terrible battle is fought. Then silence.

Eventually one badly wounded ISIS fighter crawls back over the dune and with his dying words tells his commander, "Don't send any more men... It's a trap. There's two of them."

Semper Fi Marines!

I see the humor but at the same time let's never underestimate the P.O.S that call themselves ISIS....if it were me I'd say just drop one bomb and finish that area of the world off...start fresh...

Funny -- and 100% true.

My personal problem with the whole thing is that I don't understand the real reasons behind ISIS ---- and don't really care to find out because of their tactics. Obviously "they" believe in something that drives them....

Being a Marine and having had the opportunity to deploy to Iraq in 05 and 08 I say unleash the Devil Dogs! In 2005 I was in the Triangle of Death
(Yusufiyah, Mahmoudiyah, Iskandariyah, Latifiyah) kicking in doors and doing constant foot patrols with relentless bombardment of indirect fire. Our unit sustained many casualities and it saddens me that not long ago I saw that ISIS was once again in control of that territory.

I don't under estimate the dedication of this group and that is the beauty of them. They want to die, the Marines are trained well in helping with this.

The real question is why are we fighting them...we are in their land. Like Vince said, we are fighting a leadership less organization. We make them stronger with the bombs and the bullets. We need to understand their ideology, but theirs a lot the American people don't know.

We have gangs, organizations, and murderers here in our own land we can't stop. It's an endless battle. It's a true dilema

Because what they are doing is wrong. It's not Ok to cut reporters heads off, forcing people to convert to a certain religion or die. Using children as weapons. We do understand there ideology at least those that have done research or open their eyes. What they stand for and how they make people live is wrong. I hope the people in those countries living in fear stand up and fight for something better. As long as they are our military should help/support them.

Plus if we or nobody else does nothing we will all be forced with that decision and not on my watch will my children or yours live like that. Peace would be great but they want war, so be it.

That's a tough one....when you are living your life and following a god, your god his god what ever. You will do anything against the people who you see as the enemy of your god and essentially your way of life. Religion is a very good thing and in the same breath and very dangerous thing in the eyes of misguided believers. Then add on the decades of Western oppression. Children raise on the belief that Westerners are the Infidel Mohammed spoke of.

These are extremist and to compare them to your average street thug can be costly. There are ex military from many countries joining the fight. Baltic fighters Pakistani and even from the US. About 1800 US citizens some of which Military trained are there to fight.

The ultimate goal is to spread the Islamic Caliphate and they will stop at nothing to see it as the last religion on this Earth.

"to best your enemy you must understand your enemy"

Sounds a bit like early American government...

The sad part about all this is the amount of kids coming home fawked in the head. For what?

So we can debate about it while our military/law enforcement protect us. It's all voluntary people protecting those that would rather make the decision on there knees about to loose their head. Just support them rather then question why they are doing it. They all have different reasons and not a single one I know is worried about him or herself.

Not sure where you got all that from what I wrote. Let me rephrase....It saddens me to see returning soldiers have issues that effect their daily lives and not receive the help they need.

Thanks Jimmy. It was a great eye opening experience that helped me find a direction to point my life. I should have probably learned a trade rather then doing infantry. Its hard to bring an accurate gernade toss back into the civilian world lol.

Just came across this thread ... thanks for your service! I would be proud to board a submarine again and launch tomahawks until ISIS is eliminated ... if they would only let this old fart back on a submarine. lol
