http://www.musclecaroftheweek.com - AMC made a hard run at Trans Am racing in the late 1960s by enlisting such racing superstars as Ronnie Kaplan, Mark Donahue, Peter Revson, Roger Penske, and others to help them turn the Javelin into a competitive race car. For 1970, the Javelin SST Trans Am production car car wore the colors of the AMC racing team on the outside, and performance upgrades like the 325 HP 390 V8, 4-speed manual transmission, upgraded suspension, a 3.90:1 rear gear, disc brakes, and other goodies underneath the skin. AMC took 2nd in points in Trans Am in 1970, and 100 street versions were made to make the race car legal for SCCA racing. Today, we share fantastic example from the Brothers Collection in this episode.
