Here is a quick project that we have been working on to debut our new bolt on REVO IFS and 4-Bar rear for the 1960-87 C10's. While our complete chassis has been very popular for the C10's, there is certainly a large group of guys looking to do the bolt-on approach. Being C10 fans and very familiar with the trucks, we set out to design a bolt on IFS crossmember and 4-bar rear that can fix a lot of the short comings of the stock suspension. The goal was to develope a package that the average guy could bolt on with basic tools over the weekend and see some huge changes in ride quality, performance, safety, and stance. We used our REVO IFS geometry and components as the starting point and designed a C10 specific crossmember that will bolt in to the factory frame rails once the factory crossmember is removed. On the rear, we wanted to stay with the easy bolt on theme and keep the fabrication to a minimum. (no bed floor modification) There is a C-notch required to the rear rails, but everything else will bolt on.
To start, we wanted as original of a truck as possible. I found an incredible 69 short bed on ebay and snatched it up. This is one of the very few times when a car/truck was better in person than in the pictures. This thing is nice! The perfect patina and only a dime sized spot of rust in the back of the cab.

Let the dis-assembly begin...
In an hour or so, the entire rear suspension was removed from the truck leaving the bare frame rails. The drive train was removed and A few hours later the front crossmember suspension, and steering were removed from the truck so the designing could begin.

I am in for this. I love these C10 and hope to get back to my own '65 later this year.
I hope you are not touching the body, like you said, the patina is perfect.
Keep the interior close to upscale stock with nicer materials, but stock theme...

After a little design work, we were able to come up with the finished product...
Once the stock front crossmember is removed the new REVO crossmember will bolt directly in using existing frame rail holes. A few additional mounting holes are required to be drilled in the frame rails.
(the green sections represent the stock frame rails)
http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/RS-Perf/Green%2069%20C10%20Revo%20Bolt%20On/67-72%20Revo%20Bolt%20In%20C-10%20Assembly%205_zpsbxd7rdao.jpg
On the rear, we designed all of the brackets to again bolt to the frame using existing holes. A few additional holes are required to be drilled in the rear rails as well. In order to get the rear of the truck sitting low, a C-notch needs to be cut into the rear rails above the axle. We provide a template to trace and cut out. The new rear bracket extends forward and back of the c-notch for added support. It also has a boxed in section the fits into the c-notch to again add strength. The coilovers are mounted outboard of the rails and set vertical to optimize the motion ratio. You can run a 10" wide wheel in the stock wheel tubs with this set up. If you want to slightly mini-tub the bed, an 11" wheel will fit with a 305 tire.

We have a few other pieces in the works for a center crossmember, exhaust ports, steering mounts, etc...

Does this use Vette hubs and arms or can you keep stock truck bolt patterns?

The REVO IFS uses a Wilwood Pro Spindle. All of the brake kits offered through Wilwood come double drilled with 5x4.75" adn 5x4.5" bolt circle. I am not sure if they can to a 5x5" bolt pattern or not.

How does the Panhard mount attach to the rear axle?...assuming you can use a stock rear-end.
The panhard mount is integrated to the driver side frame mount. The other end is a bracket welded to the axle tube. We had planned on selling this as a kit completely welded with a 9" housing and axles. If you wanted to use a stock 10 or 12 bolt, we can probably accommodate that. I would have to check some dimensions. I think the mount should be fine. The extra strengthening gusset may get into the cast center portion of the 10/12 Bolt housing

Amazing as usual. With this bolt on kit, how similar will the ride height be in comparison with your full frame trucks like the Craftsman truck or the original orange and white truck? What size tire can you run up front?

On this truck, we are currently doing a simple trans crossmember and keeping the stock center crossmember in place. We have made a bolt on bracket that will act as an exhaust port in the stock center crossmember. We have plans for a more elaborate cradle style center crossmember in the near future.

Since we decided to keep the modification to a minimum on this suspension system, the ride height for the bolt on system will sit roughly 2" - 3" higher than the complete chassis. It will still be a aggressive stance, but not as low as the complete chassis stance.
On this truck we are going to be running 20x9.5" fronts and 20x10" rears. Front and rear inner fenders and wheel tubs are 100% stock. More on this in a few days!

... You can run a 10" wide wheel in the stock wheel tubs with this set up. If you want to slightly mini-tub the bed, an 11" wheel will fit with a 305 tire.

Getting the steering linkage to the rack has always been an issue on these trucks due to the frame rail width and positioning of the steering column coming through the firewall. We have designed a package to take the guesswork out of routing the steering. We fabbed up a chassis brace that bolts into the frame rail. A small notch is required to be cut in the frame to get a better steering shaft angle. The new frame mount includes a tab for a heim joint to support the steering shaft. We have also designed a lower column mount (through firewall) and an upper column mount (to the dash) to secure the column adn position it where it needs to be. This is designed to work with an Ididit replacement column

What size wheels are on the shop truck?
Also, how does the front end geometry changes compare to your Fast Track system with the C6 spindles?

Thank you! That was the goal with this suspension. While it is more than some of the others on the market, we feel that the quality, engineering, and ease of installation definitely carry more weight in the long run.

20x9.5 in the front adn 20x10 in the rear.
This suspension is based off the Wilwood Pro spindle and is geared towards a street performance system. Not to discredit the performance any. This suspension will definitely have a very high level of performance, but not the same as our Fast Track suspension.
