Can anybody tell me how much clearance I need "safely" on my mini tubbed Camaro between the tire and leaf spring and my tire and fender lip? I have 11" wheels now in the rear and am debating on 12"
Thanks
can anybody answer this? I never get any replies or help on simple questions. I just don't want too little side clearance on my wheels and have issues..

I had 1/2" on my 2nd gen before, never rubbed. Each side of the tire so opening less 1"

it's not really such a simple question.
what is the section width of your current wheel/tire?
how much clearance do you have now??
if you go to the wider wheel what will be the section width of the new wheel/tire???
if you get new wheels you will also need to know what offset to shoot for (and backspacing too).
a good idea would be to grab a wheel-rite tool and make some measurements.
hey, you could always just pick up any old wheel/tire combo, throw 'em on your ride, and then watch to see if anything gets to rubbing... that's what i'm doing:cheers:
good luck,

I'm running a 315/35/17. Want 335's. Have about an inch on either side now. Tire is a touch over 12" wide now.
Thanks

335's don't fit with he leaf spring application. It will fit a 315 max. You'll have clearance issues.
However if you have a torque arm or 4 link....335's work fine.

I ran 335s on my last 69 with the DSE leaf spring kit and had good clearance,I had 11' wide wheels my tires measured a total of 13" wide and went to 12" wheels and only gained 1/2" on total width, you should be fine.
I'm pretty sure DSE advertised you could run a 335, but I'm sure there is a few things to factor in. I just see some of these cars on here look like they have very minimal clearance around the fender lip and spring area. I thought maybe there was a rule of thumb, to not have less than "x" amount of clearance.
Thanks for the input
