"LIVE AND LEARN" why get mad it never helps?
While I was at Pa. car show in april I pick up a 65 fastback for my wife and it was perfect. We had a lot of rain in Ma. so she put a breathable car cover and then a poly trap over cover. It took four days and the new paint that the guy who sold it to me had done has at least 100 small bubbles on hood and two fenders. I guess it is really my fault because I did not tell her to take it off. She loves the car but it is a classic stock so off the chop shop customs tommorrow to get front clip repainted, gt grille, fog lights, suspension, gt strips and tourqe thrust. What is your opion on doing this everyone says you are screwing up a nice car but I say if she wants it do it. Oh yea monday my 68 rs/ss goes in body and paint finally but it will be three months and 20k later till it's done. I'm posting pics of fastback and in two weeks I will post after pics.

Just have fun and do it..

Unless it's some rare numbers matching car (like a GT500, GT, etc) then you won't hurt the value much at all.. if any.

That's why Ive never been a "matching number and chalk" guy.. it's no fun to not be able to do what you want to a car.

Besides.. anything that can be unbolted can be put back.. just save the old parts.

Like Steve said, I wouldn't worry about hurting the value but if I can walk in to a dealer anywhere in the U.S. and buy an '06 V6 powered Mustang with GT/Shelby stripes, they're officially played out. Sorry but same goes for the TTIIs. If it makes your wife happy, that's what really matters in the grand scheme of things because I know it will add years to your life but I'm in the business of helping people make statements with their rides so I lobby on that side of things......
Just my $.02

I have to reiterate what Steve and Jason said. Don't worry about how valuable the car is in stock condition. Do what you want with it, have fun. It's your car and you'll have to stare at it everyday. You don't want to be standing there thinking "I wish I could do this or that to it but it'll ruin the value." It looks like a nice car that isn't so rare that it'll be worth over $100K.

Where in MA are you from?

DO IT!DO IT!DO IT! Go to a car show and see the stock built #matching cars and what do you say? "That's nice" and you move on. Then you come to the car that has had some good custom work done to it, and what do you say? "That's bad ass!" :hail: Step apart from the others! Make your own unique ride that YOU like! To quote the old sports icon Nike. Just do it!

Now that it is done she loves it. I think it does look better with stripes and without gt lower stripes. She now calls it her musle car. I put a 72 chevelle in last week so post those pics next week. thanks for help again.
