And so it begins, (again), we rolled Kasey's 63 into the shop after more than two years of sitting. She bought it at 13 with her own money, and 6 years later we don't have much to show for it.
Her vision is the photo shopped car below.
Remove almost all chrome
Kindigit flush front door handles, shave the rear
R&C Motorsports MII
FreakRide triangulated four link (arrives today)
302 modified, T5 WC 5 speed
9" with 3:50 tru-trac, narrowed
Custom interior she designed (%90 done)
Electric windows
Vintage Air
Custom Gauges
Tire 275/40/16 or larger in back
Wheels ??? Wanted to go with steelies and dog dish, but she is wavering.
Color, as in rendering
Work performed by both of us. She has been spinning wrenches since she was 10. She help me build most of my 68 GT.

Quick story, came home late one night with a car on the trailer. Said to my 12 yo son, c'mon out and look at it! Two second glance and he said "is that all?" (not impressed, turned around and walked back in the house). 14 yo daughter then came out and said, "Dad! Awesome!! And we spent 20 minutes going over the car.
Either gasoline runs in your veins or it doesn't, lol.

I have just started working on a car with my 8yr old son who claimed it as his own this past summer..
I was out working on my truck and he asked me "when are we going to start working on my Mustang?" lol
It's a good feeling when your kid takes interest. Keep us posted on the progress!

Thanks guys for the kind words, it means allot.
I found a picture of her with the seats (and her sinister jack russel, Minnie). Fronts are modified 67 Mustang seats, she didnt want head rests, but I insisted.
She designed the seats but the upholster didnt come through on all the bolstering she wanted.

Wow,that's great. My wife comes out from time to time, but does not have much interest, She does however think our projects are cool and a good way to have a relationship.

Will do,here is how we started out together on old Fords...
She started at 10 with a 42 9N Ford, being my gopher. She asked so many questions I let her turn wrenches and taught her about hydraulics, and engines.
She bought this one for $750, parted it out for $2,750. Then she used the money to buy the R&C MII

And another one still in the works, Just like my Grand Dad's

I have been thinking about how to streamline the side of the car more and found a picture of a 64 wagon on the internet. Essentially he removed the vent window in front, and the little fake vent window behind the back glass in the rear door,
Anyone know how this is done with new glass? I have been told the rear window may not roll all the way down if I do this.

This is a 63 Wagon

So to be more specific all that chrome would come off, the window frame would be body color, and the windows would have a tint.
No rear door handles, and Kindig flush mount body color front door handles.
This would clean up the side of the car and make it more monochromatic.
Thoughts?

If it looks anything like that..it will be legit! Even if it was down on some white truck steelies with chrome centers to match the interior!
The seats will look good too!
