trying to pick connectig rod bearings for my L33 and trying to choose coated or uncoated, clevite or king or O.E. I know the benefits of the coatings that are claimed by manufacturers and magazines, but i am curious what you guys are using?

Well, it didn't take me long recently to make this very choice. Have you priced bearings for an LS engine?
What is the intended usage of this engine? If your building an engine that will see a higher load on the bearings than normal, meaning a supercharger, turbo set up, or simply a high compression NA engine, then you could benefit from the coated bearings. If your simply putting together a mild street engine, you won't need the coated bearings, as your oil temps will be easily containable. Wouldn't hurt a thing to put the coated bearings in, but I'd rather invest my money in the chassis.
I've used the king bearings on several engines, with great results. They are made in Israel, and are amazing quality for their price. I recently went with the Clevite for my LS2 build, simply because I found them to be less expensive than the GM bearings.
General rule of thumb here: your bearings are as only good as your machine work, and set up tolerances.
