Hey Guys,

I'm new to your forum and thought I would share my ongoing project. I went for the tried and true recipe of the little British car with the big American V8.

My car has Corvette front suspension and Independent rear and it 4 inches wider that originally designed. She has an LS motor with 6 speed stick.

After a few years of the car being on the back burner I'm happy to get her finished soon.

Here is my rendering to get everyone excited.

Special thanks to Kris Horton at Cars by Kris for the amazing rendering of my halfway completed project car. The car is true to the rendering and should be done by the end of the year. Lots of pics to follow if there's interest :confused18:

Welcome!
Sweet project. My oldest brother taught me to drive a stick on a 67 MGB, but if it had an LS in it he might have thought twice about letting me get behind the wheel. Man I haven't thought about that for a while, and we love lots of pictures!!!

Looks great Rob! I know you mentioned that the car was nearing completion so I'll hold off on some of my questions....I gotta ask a couple though. :D

The angle of the upper control arm mount looks severe, maybe it's just the picture. Are you running the front suspension at factory spec or have you built in some caster? It reminds me of my buddies front engine dragster!

Headers look great! Is the plate just a guide for bringing the pipes together for the collector?

Looks like you're doing a fine job of stuffin 10lbs in a 5lb sack! Looking forward to more updates.

Thanks for the inspiration. There is a guy next door to me that has a Sunbeam that has been calling my name lately.

The concept is outstanding and your execution is great .... keep it up!

Question: is that the Cone Engineering header kit, merge collector kit and their alignment plate? I was looking into their quality and ease of assembly, does the U-Bend cutting fixture make id'ing the angles helpful or not?

Nice work!

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

Dan - The front suspension was built to the C4 corvette factory specs. Its just the picture that give that look wheels are right where they should be.

The plate is just to mount the collectors. Its made by Cone Engineering.

Sonar - Yes it is the Cone Engineering header kit, merge collector kit and their alignment plate? Yes the kit made it easy to mark the u-bend to be cut on my band saw. This was my first time building one off headers and it actually went really well. I was very happy with there kit.

Sonar - Are you referring to where my car is located?

No, I was joking cuz it looks like you are building this smaller car in a small room .... doing a great job too!

Oh sorry, got it now. Yeah its the metal fab room in my shop. Luckily we have a 10k sqft building. I'll post some more pics in the future. I have it in that room so it's out of the way of the day to day work. Call it my man cave

Ok, 30 days since your last post - causing withdrawals.

I want to do a hatch back like this.
