You know how they say cars are never really done? I'd say that this is a good case of that. A buddy of mine is building this Nova and it has rims with black hoops and white spokes. It's hard to imagine, but looks KILLER on his car.

I was thinking it might look cool on my Chevelle...what do you guys think?

See my signature for how the wheels are currently.

It's pretty wild looking...kind of more exotic car looking, but I kind of dig it. Mind you, the interior is bright white also...so it would match.

I think the current wheel color is perfect. I wouldn't change it. Plus cleaning the white might not be fun if you drive the car. Not sure but a thought.

Keep the color you have. Car looks great just as it is.

If it's as simple as swapping why not just do it and post it up? Everybody is right the car looks killer bur do it just because you can.

Says the guy who once told me "I go through wheels like women go through shoes" lol

Vince I think you want me to get that car more than I do lol. The problem is the Chevelle is currently motorless(long story there), and I'm in the middle of swapping an LS engine in my '62 Caddy. So I kind of need another project like I need another hole in my head lol

Fair enough :waveflag:

It would actually be a ton of work...I'd have to take apart the wheels, have them sandblasted and powder coated. Plus the cost of it all.

The current color is appropriately mechanical looking and definitely more timeless. The white would be kinda trendy/fad-ish. I say keep 'em as is.

I'm sure you know you COULD use Plasti-dip to try it out or do it temporarily, then just strip it off once you are tired of the look or just want to revert back. It comes in Arctic White matte finish...
Just another option.

Plasti dip could give you and idea X2. But it looks killer the way it sits esp being engineless lol.

The brighter wheel center makes them stand out like wagon wheels. Don't mess with success!

I'll jump on the same train and say leave it alone. Looks killer as is! White would just stand out way to much IMO. We all know wheel/tire combo and stance will make it or break it - in this case I think it would break it.

Same here Tim, you have a great contrast the way it is, plus they match very well. Going with a much more dramatic contrast may eff up the look of the entire painting....Like what Vince said LOL....get that Elco...

I would have to say the car would have to be white for white wheels. Just like your car is grey with grey wheels. The interior alone being white wouldn't be enough to justify or rationalize white wheels to me. Simply put......NOPE!!:buttkick: :buttkick: :buttkick:

(But, at the end of the day, it's your car Tim. Do what makes you happy.)

Looks like I'll be leaving it alone haha...not one person liked it. I still might grab a can of plasti-dip and shoot one wheel, just to see how it looks in person.

I really do love the wheel set up I have now though...they are absolutely killer and I don't see myself buying another set of wheels soon.
