I'm not sure where to post this. 1970 Camaro

Looking through many of DSE's builds, they have done massive surgery of the transmission tunnel.

Does the Magnum T56 require massive tunnel mods with DSEs frame? Insight please before I dive into the swap.

To make it a clean looking install yes. But you can just do relief cuts and pockets.

Thanks Vince. Do you happen to have pictures?

Yeah, I was coming to the realization there maybe some cutting in the middle, but I also saw cutting of the firewall. Does it push the drivetrain that far back?

No, modifying the firewall is to keep the transition fluid. This may vary car to car. My suggestion if you just want to pocket clearence is to mount the engine and using a floor jack raise the trans and see where it contacts the floor. Remove the offending sheet metal.

I'm assuming you looked at the pics of mine and the firewall mods. Some of that had to do with the fact that LS7 manifold hangs over the back of the engine farther than any other LS, I wanted easier access for service work in the future so we pocketed the firewall for more room. Ride height and driveline angle are deciding factors on how much surgery the tunnel will require.
