The car is currently 4-Sale (( http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=53923 ))

Way back in 2010 I acquired a new SLP575 from the gentleman who purchased the Syborg TT project. The plan was to put it in the trailer to get it home but it was 2" to long. So I said good-bye to Kenny and I jumped in the Camaro with 17 miles on the clock and 1,732 miles later I was home.

The first 1,000 miles was a blast but the last 732 were a bit exhausting. But none the less I made it home in a day & half just in time to grab my daughter and take her to her final diving meet. Looking back I am happy I drove it home which makes it easy to drive it when I want now. I even haul my mountain bike with it from time to time.

The first modification was the most important.

I needed a trailer hitch so I could haul my mountain bike to the trail. What I like the most about this hitch is you don't have to cut up the car in any way shape or form. Bolts on in about 20 minutes.

The second modification I did was to swap out the wheels & tires.

Okay so now it's time for the fun to begin on the car and try to get rid on the sloppy ride and handling.

After talking with the guys at LG Motorsports and explaining to them that I wanted a very simple brain dead get in it an drive suspension I began collecting
parts for the suspension. Due to the fact that Pfadt had just gone out of business I needed to source the parts from various vendors.

The fist upgrade was going to be be wheels & tires which I ordered from LG Motorsports so I picked up a staggered set of there ZR28 wheels.

http://garagescene.net/gallery3/var/resizes/Builders/Sportmachines/10-Camaro-ZL575-Transformer/2014%2003-07%20LG%20Motorsports%20ZR28%20Wheels.JPG

I had them mounted with the Goodyear Eagle F1 which are standard on the ZL1.

You can see the difference from the Goodyears to the Nittos

difference in the front tires can be seen here.

okay I have learned that swapping wheels on a 4 post sucks. I really need to get the sliding jack.

I also ordered a set of Gorrilla locks for the wheels from the guys at Apex Motorsports.

Old vs New

and this time I swapped the lugs on the ground using this little tool from the guys at ZL1 Add-Ons. Sure did make life easier this time around.

When ever I start a build I work with a graphics guy to do a few renderings of what the car may look like when it's complete. This
time I had the pleasure to work with Victor Fulton and I an really excited to show off his work.

http://garagescene.net/gallery3/var/resizes/Builders/Sportmachines/10-Camaro-ZL575-Transformer/2014%2011-17%20Camaro_Marty_rear_Jpeg.jpg

Some of you may have already seen the new MRR Design Model 228 Wheels which look very similar to the wheels on the Z28. When
I saw these wheels I new I wanted a set for the car. So I asked Victor put them on the car in rendering.

One of things that has driven me crazy since I acquired the car was the mis-matched calipers.

Bobby at LG Motorsports was able to get me the matching rear caliper and mounting bracket for the rear so this was
one of the first modifications that I planned to do.

http://garagescene.net/gallery3/var/resizes/Builders/Sportmachines/10-Camaro-ZL575-Transformer/2014%2004-11%20Bumble%20Bee%20LG%20ZR28%20%26%20Goodyear%20F 1%20Wheel%20swap%20%2813%29.jpg

This is the front brake kit that was installed on the car as part of the SLP Package.

Since the front tires are so sticky I needed to add a set of splash guards to the front fenders. I picked these up from Showtime and install took about 5 minutes.

Should have those posted by end of day today.

Each Car is supplied a Dyno sheet and a warranty from SLP on the motor and there modifications. The dyno sheet showed 568hp which is more then enough however if I make a pulley swap and headers I can easily get to 700hp.

Looking great Marty, I figured you might be starting your upgrade process soon.

Any interest in selling the factory rear calipers (rotors too if you're not reusing them)? I'm gradually acquiring the parts to upgrade the brakes on my wife's 2013 V6.

You think that jack adapter from ZL1 Add ons would work with the G8/SS?

I need something for my SS sedan.

Also - Pfadt is back if you didn't run into them at SEMA.

They are under AFE Power now - so you might bet able to get parts from them soon(ish) in 2015....

Also your making me want to start tinkering with my SS sedan - I still have the CTS-V 6 piston brembos and the wheels.

That - or sell all that and get an 1LE, lol!

Next up was to locate a set of Recaro seats for the car and lucky me a set of seats became available on camaro5 forum.

They are basically brand new as the passenger seat was only sat in few times and the drivers seat had a new hyde installed
as well as a seat cushion prior to them being shipped to me.

Waiting for the G5 Carbon ZL1 Rear Diffuser should have it in a couple weeks. Once I have it in my hands I will order all the misc pieces to install it on the rear cover.

Quickly trying to catch this thread up.

The goal was to get all of these parts installed on the car prior to the Power Tour and with only a week to go and
working 60 - 70 hours a week I needed to call the Guys at Super Car Performance in Minooka, IL.

www.supercarperformance.com

I had already purchased the Sway Bars from them and they said if I ever needed anything to just call them so that is exactly
what I did. Scott and I talked for about 30 minutes to set up a game plan and a time for me to drop off the car. They had 5 days
to do all of the work and before Mike & I were going to leave on the Power Tour and they pulled it off with 1 day to spare.

Last piece of the puzzle was the cradle bushings and I was able to get these from a member on the Camaro5 board.

Instead of buying a new car I decided to update the one I already have.

So the next step was to drop the car and all of the new Carbon parts that I received from Nathan (G5R) at Show Stoppers in St Charles, IL.

of course this hood is on my wish list.

My goal is to give the car a completely new look. In order to do that the stripes need to be removed from the hood, front fascia, deck lid and rear spoiler. Also it was an easy way to remove the chips from last years Power Tour.

Thank you, The Transformer will be back for sure. If I took it off my daughter would kill me. The upper grille is actually a ZL1 grille and I had a true set of Z28 wheels but they stuck out to far. So the MRR28 wheels are the best option and I just love the look.

Picked up the car the car Friday morning and wow am I happy.

I can't thank the guys at G5 Carbon enough for making the Carbon Fiber happen for the Camaro. It has totally
transformed the look of my car and it's like having a new car.

I also want to thank,

Paul at Need4Speed for offering the new MR228 Wheels as they complete the look I was going after.

The Guys at Aerosports Concept for offering the Wicker Bill which completed the look.

Tyler and the guys and gals at JDP Motorsports for the Tow Hook, Stainless Works Exhaust, Cats and Headers.

DEI for the Tranny tunnel heat Shield and the Sound Deadening in the trunk.

Gen5DIY for being a one stop for all of the ZL1 conversion parts for the rear diffuser and the ZL1 Grille

Emblem Pro's for making the one off Grille emblem ( should be here soon )

Show Stoppers for the Paint, Bodywork and installation of the G5 Carbon Parts.

Bill & Scott at Super Car Performance for installing the suspension, rear brakes last year.

and finally Victor Fulton for the putting my thoughts to paper and doing the rendering. (ps Victor we need to update the hood part, sorry)

Without all of these guys my car would still be sitting in my garage and all of the parts would still be in my Warehouse.

Better pictures tomorrow morning as I plan to shoot the car before the sun comes up.

Thank you again to all who have helped me get this Car Transformed and ready once again last minute for this years Power Tour.

After the Power Tour the plan is to install the Stainless Works Exhaust, Pulley and get the motor tuned and see if we can get 650hp out of the car.

Install the Harness Bar, Recaro seats, ZL1 Shifter, and the Kicker Sub Box.

The Wish list would be to have a set of red factory seat belts made for the car and it will be complete.

Next step is to change up the engine by adding some color to it.

Since the guys at G5 Carbon never rest and keep coming up with cool parts to rid the Gen5 of the plastic and
create cool carbon parts I decided I needed to buy the trunk filler panel.

btw, what all did you do to 2nd chance? rims, and ????

Still got the bike mount? I was gonna do a trunk mount for mine, but i tossed that idea, thinking about some boring roof (removable) Thule. Still would like a something at the trunk.

Well, I pretty much hate cleaning cars so the Chrome had to go so after seeing Steilows new Camaro at Sema last year. I new i wanted to change the color on the trim and wheels. So Kenny sent off the wheels and trim to the Powder Coater and we had them coated in a Titanium color. Very similar to what Audi used on the R8 which is where the color for the car came from.

The bottom of the dash was Krinkle Coated and we also added down bars under the hood. A few other things were done but I can't remember them right now.

Thank you I am really excited about the transformation. I can't wait to get the headers, Exhaust and the Recaro seats installed. It will seriously feel like a new car at that point.

Can I ask how much you paid for the seats when you got them?

Thank you and it looks like i need to raise the front about 1/2 as I noticed a little tire rub on the passenger side fender lip.

I picked up the seats from a member on Camaro5 forum for $2200.00 plus shipping. The Passenger seat was never sat in and the Drivers seat had 10,000 miles on it but the dealer installed new foam and covers the week before it shipped. So I got a smoking deal.

It needed it badly. I never really like the stripes on the hood and dislike stripes on the trunk of 5th gens. So it had to be done and like I said in a previous post I really wanted to buy a new Z28 but just couldn't justify a car that I would rarely drive. So I spent a few dollars on this one and it's much easier to only have to wash two cars vs three cars.

Looking good man. Thanks for all the help with my Camaro.

Not a problem I enjoy helping people.

I am pretty confident that your Corvette may kick my Camaro's butt. Plus I really need to work on my driving skills before I take it out on the track. I am bumbed that I missed the instructional track day last week at Road America with the Lotus club. I have a Theory and I firmly believe behind ever good driver was a great instructor and my plan is to pick up a 3rd gen just for learning how to effectively and safely drive on a track.

Thank you and it was good seeing you at Sema.

As for the Camaro I am finally happy with the way it looks. I still have a few more things to do to the car but I have the summer to do it.

Plus I am back to working on the Mountain bikes and buying yet another new wheel size for my fat bike. 27.5+. The bike industry really has to stop to coming up with new stuff for fat bikes.

Marty, just getting up to date on this build.

Great looking car! Great plan and execution! Love it! Awesome upgrades and numbers! And as always props for using your cars!

I put a lot of time and thought into the Carbon Fiber update and want to keep the car simple looking. I looked at the new ZO6 for inspiration and also worked with Pete at Showtime Automotive and together we came up with a plan to get the car to where it is today.

Sounds good!

Odd the local Police don't seem to agree

Next up will be to finish the interior upgrades to include the Recaro Seats, 1le Shifter, Suede Shifter Boot & Handle.

... and possible the Harness Bar and 4 Point Restraints. (track use only)

The original SLP tune was nice but it would hunt at idle. I asked the guys at Speed Inc for a "Street Tune" and that is exactly what they gave me and the car just drives incredible.

ps I will never turn Traction Control off again because it breaks the tires loose going into 4th gear which is enough to scare the **** out of you.
