Item Location (City/State): San Ramon, CA
Price: $6K
Description: rebuilt LS2 with LS3 top end, GTO harness/PCM 450rwhp+
I bought this as a used shortblock that had a scratch on the deck without any unusual wear marks in the bores or piston skirts. Brought it to my machine shop and it was fully machined with a light hone in the bores done to provide a fresh ring seal surface. It has zero miles on the parts unless otherwise noted.
2006 LS2 standard bore alum block (4.0") boiled, decked, honed
new cam bearings installed, new rod/main bearings
used stock pistons cleaned with new Ackerly & Childs rings
new ARP rod bolts installed and checked by my machine shop (green light)
used stock 24x crank freshly polished, stock main caps/bolts
new Melling oil pump, new LS2 tchain/tensioner, front/rear covers
LS3 heads with 78K miles (just decked for fresh mating surface 67cc approx and passed pressure test on the valves)
LS9 head gaskets, Alper Motorsports head studs (people running low 8's with these.....add $200 for ARP if you so choose)
LS3 rocker arms with Comp Cams trunion rebuild kit, BTR dual springs .650" lift
Comp .080" wall pushrods (length TBD), LS7 or comparable lifters
**your choice of hydraulic cam from Brian Tooley Racing (BTR)** should make 425rwhp-460rwhp depending upon cam/compression
LS3 intake, inj, rail, 90mm DBW TB, stock GTO harness/PCM (add $100 for ZR1 56# inj)
new LS7 style coil packs/valve covers included
18K mile water pump (Corvette), no accessories, balancer or oil pan related items
$6K plus shipping via Forward Air Trucking (about $300-500) crated up
* the heads are still at the machine shop and can be milled further if desired.
Once a deposit is given the cam gets ordered and upon receipt the top end is installed.
** $350 dollar credit given for LS3 heads/inj/rail.... and you can bolt on an LSA blower I have ($850). It needs a ZL1 lid $300, inj ($200-500), and fuel rail $250, plus misc other parts**
I have build one of these before near identical with a small BTR cam, mid length headers, and it made 460rwhp/420rwtq with a T56. It has been in an SCCA unlimited road race RX-7 for 2 years now without any issues. It gets driven hard.
I was going to use this as the back up motor for my Chevelle... but front suspension/brakes/EFI are calling upon my wallet to complete it. So this has to go.
I can also source T56's if needed. I have built probably 10 LS motors now over the years. 430rwhp heads/cam LS1, 460rwhp LS2, 438ci stroker LS7, many LS1's with cams in drift cars. They are relatively easy motors to build and take the abuse if you keep the revs within reason using mainly stock parts.
Thanks,
Mark
