Hey guys I'm looking for some opinions. I have a 1973 Camaro Z28 with @55K, that I have owned since 2001. I have some history on the car going back. The body is in great shape except the quarters below the belt line (they were repaired using pieces from half quarters). But I do have full quarters, outer wheel housings, and trunk drop offs all from AMD. The body has DSE mini tubs and sub frame connectors installed. The firewall has been smoothed. It also has a DSE quadra installed. I started to narrow the rear end. Its a dana 60 from DTS with a posi and 373s. I have GMR ends to finish the rear end but quadra link brackets have been tacked in place on the rear end. I also have a Goodmark steel 2'' cowl hood. Most of the under side has been sand blasted. I have the chrome bumpers (in really good shape), all glass, dash pad and lower dash, rear seats (no fronts) and most of the rest of the interior. All the front sheet metal It was a running driving car before I started so the emblems and trim is there

Engine and trans- is a 2002 LS1 with a T56 with @18K from Street and Performance
-corvette acc. with S and P low mount ac brackets and compressor
-Current Performance wiring harness
-Griffin LS radiator and fan
-Ricks SS fuel injected tank ( I think its narrowed)
-Magnaflow 2.5 SS exhaust
- BPR LS mounter and trans mounts ( the 1st design that works with F body oil pan)

Wheels Tires and Brakes
-Forgeline SP3P rims 18x10 and 18x12
-BFG KDW2 275/35 and 335/30
-2010 corvette Z06 calipers front and rear
-Hawk pads
-GM rotors
-KORE3 rear E-brake assembly
-Lokar E-brake cables

Stock front sub frame
-ever bushing and piece replaced with Moog replacement parts
-DSE solid body mounts
*no sway bar, springs or shocks (plan was to buy DSE sub frame)

Other Parts
-DSE delay wiper motor
-DSE battery hold down and install kit
-Vintage Air GEN III super heat/ac/def
-Vintage Air brushed aluminum controller
-Vintage Air black bulk head
-3 boxes of dynamat extreme
-Autometer Phantom 5'' speedo and tach 2 1/16 oil/water/fuel/volt
-Hella 7'' H4 headlight conversion

Now finally is it better to put the quarters on and seal it? (my family owns a body shop) Sell it as is? Or part it all out? And whats it worth as is and with the quarters/outer wheel housings/trunk drop offs installed? Thanks Bill

Man, that's a perfect project, but I would think you would need to sell it for over $30K to be worth while. Selling a non running car can be tough at times. If you have time to part it out, I think you will come ahead versus selling as a package. I know my car could use some wheels and a Vintage Air Kit.

Thanks. I never planned on selling this but we are building are home we plan on staying in with my garage. So it just make sense to me to let go at this time. My son is 4 so later in life I want to do a build with him. Any idea on what you think the body may be worth as is and with all the AMD panels installed? Once I figure out what I can get for the body with all the installed DSE stuff that will help me decide on parting it out. Thanks Bill

Hey guys just looking for input. Any at this rate. Is 27.5K unrealistic? Is it worth more to just part it out? If that's what happens any idea on what the shell may be worth? Thanks again. Bill

I think you are high. You will be lucky to recover the cost of the parts in my opinion. There is a lot of money yet to be spent before this car is complete. Parting it out will most likely get you 75 cents on the dollar.

Yes $27.5 is way unrealistic!

The parts .50-.75 on the dollar at best! Most guys buying from the foresale section are looking for deal so they want the lowest price they can get.

As for the body its worth alittle more then a basic shell as it had the DSE Q-Link installed already, well at least to this crowd.

Just for reference heres one in the forsale section right now. It have alot of work done to it already, not apples to apples but still good reference.

Ok so i just went and reread your list, my bad for not reading ALL of your post and mostly looking at the pictures.

So your NOT way off on $27.5 but its still a high number.

You still have ALOT of work that has to be done to this car so the buyer either has to know how todo the work him or her self or they are going to have to pay someone (shop) to finish it.

You have alot of nice parts but there is still a ton of parks to be purchased. You mentioned interior is there but is it all in perfect shape? If not it has almost zero value as someone will most likely want it all fresh or custom.

You would be much better off doing more work to the car to get to a roller state with the rear suspension finished and body panels fully installed and at least epoxied.

The other thing to keep in mind (which you already know) is its NOT a 69 Camaro its a 2nd gen which when built to the same specs will always bring less money almost 10-20% less from what I've seen.

Your best bet would add up what you have in the parts real money, the car doesnt matter as you've had it for a long time so its worth what a shell is worth (not much) then decide what you are willing to lose on your money from there. Or aleast you will have a starting point for a price.

I know this is an old saying but its only worth whats someone is willing to pay for it at the time they are looking to buy.

Good luck what ever you decide todo!

What area are you in?

Thanks Rick. Most of the interior is in good shape and some has been replaced. The seat belts are the orginal with the shoulder stap and all holders are there. There are no front seats and rug should be replaced. My father in law owns a body shop (the reason way everything is so dusty) so we have already talked about just installing the panels. The other good thing is that all the other panels is: doors front fenders and nose is in great shape (no rust found yet)and all original from what I can tell. The cars in Boston Ma. Thanks bill

Thanks for the PM.

I may be interested in the entire car.

The wheels won't work for my IRS. I can manage like a 2" lip in the rear.

Bring this back up to the top. I have sold a lot of parts but I did make the shell a roller and hung the front sheet metal. Looking to see what you guys think the shell with all the new sheet metal is worth or if there is any interest. It comes with things like the rear seat, steering column and wheel, tail lights, upper and lower dash, door panels. I do still have the KORE3 e brake set up and GMR ends (corvette brakes are sold), DSE brake booster and master, DSE battery relocation kit, mag a flow exhaust, and some other things I will list separate. I'm just at work and wanted to get a jump. I'll list it tomm in the for sale section. I have more pics with the front end on the car I can email or txt if anyone is interested till I get home to list the car. Thanks Bill
