What would an LS3 from a 2010 Camaro be worth? Car has 40,000 miles. Complete setup with auto trans.

Would be L99 if came in 2010 SS with auto. Still a good motor but some differences between LS3 and L99. Worth approximately the same, maybe a little less depending on if person wants to get ride of AFM and do an LS3 conversion.

I wold say around 3-4 k . I paid just over 6k for my 0 mile ls3 480 with a 2 year warranty
And under 3k for a 0 mile t56 magnum

That said used motors were selling for close to crate motor prices which I still don't understand

Yeah, you can buy a new crate LS3 for around $6-7K. An engine with unknown history with 40K miles is going to be a hard dale at retail. I agree with the $3K -$4K price depending on stuff that comes with it.

Check ebay. L99's with auto trans and all accessories, ECM etc go for 6 to 8k. I just saw one locally for 6k.

L99 has VVT and AFM/DOD. Make sure this is what you want. The six speed 6L80E trans will also take some effort due to its size and programming complexity (the TCM is inside the transmission). Your best bet would be a Speartech harness and ECM etc which will run you around 1.5k along with reprogramming your TCM.

Edit: Just realized this thread is a little dated... :>)
