I haven't logged in here for almost three years but today I have to.

This week it is 10 years since I took my 69 Camaro Z/28 out from my garage as a Pro Touring car. This has been a project over many years in several steps.

First part was to make it look like a Pro Touring Camaro so over the winter 2003/04 I rebuilt the suspension with a Guldstrand Mod, welded in subframe connectors and added Corvette C4 discbrakes. A Hotchkis TVS-kit was mounted as well. To make it look cool I put on 17" Cobalt wheels from Budnik, I don't think the make them any more.

It looked like this on the first outing.

In 2005 I sold the driveline, a 396 with a M20 and bought a LS1/T56 combo on eBay, Jody helped me with that deal. Thanks!!
It took me almost two years to complete the swap, it is a lot more that needs fixing than just mount the engine. Back then there weren't any bolt-on kits for LS1 in a 69 Camaro. They turned up just when I was done. So engine brackets, headers, gas tank, trans cross member, instrumentation, wiring I had to fabricate myself. It turned out pretty good. A Vintage Air A/C unit were added at the same time. The LS1 is a great engine and I have driven it 12500 miles. I haven't done anything to the engine, just the headers. It still has the spark plugs that came with it from eBay. Two oilchanges is the only service done to it.

Some minor modifications has been done to the car over the years. I changed the brakes to C5 and Camaro LS1 in the back. The C4 calipers couldn't stand the power from the HydraTech booster. SpeedTech UCA's has been added too. Last mods were done a few years with a Trans AM spoiler and mirrors from Vision hot rods.

Here is how it looks now.

I made some modifications to the interior with a new dash and center console:
