I am having big headache with my ( all repop parts..) headlight mounting.

As you can see the capsule tension spring dont fit at all. Have i understood something totally wrong here? AIM manual show this should be quite easy..

Left side housing

What i am doing wrong here?

In the last picture, I think you can use the slot in the chrome retaining ring. I'm not saying that's OEM correct but believe it works. Those ring are somewhat 'flimsy' but I think strong enough to retain the spring. Kind of a PITA to change a bulb as you need to remove the spring to remove the light.

On my car someone improvised and drilled a hole in the bucket, it works and eliminated the need to remove the spring for servicing the light. http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-RhNNzcX/0/X2/i-RhNNzcX-X2.jpg

Your spring is going to pop out if place as soon as you pull on it. I got some needle nose pliers place them right at the bend and beat on the retaining leg of the spring to further bend leg

But still, how these parts can be so off at allmost nothing fits..

Wouldn't be the first time a repro part missed a critical detail. :D
