Time for the fun part of this build!!! How about a power plant, tranny, and wheels......Well a LS-3,,,just out of the crate would be nice (430 HP), with a new Comp Cams cam to add a little more Ump, (might get this engine up to 500 HP with a good tune). Also added new valve springs, retainers, and push rods,,,, a new T-56 Magnum 6 speed,,,,and a RAM twin disc clutch and pressure plate,,,, Budnik Wheels, (18 x 10 front, 20 x 15 rear) and Micky Thompson Sportsman Radial tires (18 x 11 1/2 front, and 20 x 18 rear), should be plenty to hug and grip the road. My next quest is to make sure the body will fit the frame,,,,,pictures coming

Vince, No It is not a Mock frame but it does have a lot of Scott's (VRP) innovation's built it to it. I have known Scott for over 30 years and he has help me build several projects. From a 2000 F-450 make over, a 48 foot gooseneck trailer, 190 inch front engine dragster, he has helped me out a lot. I have seen the cars he has built, and the one he helped his son Kevin build,,,,they are all fast.....and on a budget.....Hoping some of that VRP
magic, safety and engineering rubs off on this build, I know Scott at VRP will not steer me wrong!!!!

I decided to add a little more horse power to my project. I purchased a Harrop HH122 supercharger. It supercharger was set up for LS-6, so I decided to change it over to work on a LS-3. I also decided to update the supercharger while I had it apart.49379

Had to take the supercharger apart, 1. separated the blower for the manifold, 2. take out the cooling radiators to clean and install new fittings, 3. Take all parts off of the superchargers, and replace, 4. take rotors out, check for damage, (none), 5. check for clearance, new bearings, put back together, check clearances again, 6. replace all external bearings, 7. replace all O-rings and seals, 8, put blower and manifold, (the new LS-3 manifold), back together,,,,,done

All the mounts are in place,,,have to make sure the body clears everything. Had to cut the top out of the transmission tunnel for clearance. Will have to rebuild that???? Checking on New Transmission Mount Brackets???? How much clearance do I have or will I need?????

Nice! Who's headers are those mounted on the engine? They look sweet, hows the ground clearance?

Keep at it ...

They look like Melrose headers to me. I could be wrong though.

Looks great so far! What rear axle/differential are you using? I'm building a very similar car right now and I'm looking at getting the 9" from Strange...

Keep the updates coming.

The headers were made by Silver Panther Performance. They cost $188.83 plus $25.00 shipping. They are a 1 3/4 tube - 67/69 Camaro Ls-1 swap. My build is a budget build and they saved me $500.00 off the price of Hooker headers. The quality is OK, they have a few flaws but nothing so bad that one can see. These headers are the exact same design as the Hooker headers. On my car they gave me 4 3/4 inches of clearance. The clearance will depend on how high your car sits off the ground. These headers fit great,,,,but a corvette body is channeled to the frame and the body hits my headers, so I am going to sell these and buy something different, like a mid length header. The rear in is a narrowed nine inch ford with a Strange center section, 4;10 gear, and strange axles.

Melrose makes really great headers if you can afford them. I know a number of people that have them on late model cars and are very pleased.

Car is coming along nicely.
