Was in LA for my sons masters ceremony (as i live in northern ca) and stayed at the Hilton in Norwalk, came down to go get coffee for my daughter and my wife and was like, "I know I parked here". Eff. I love(D) that truck. It took me a long time to find the one i wanted and poof, gone.
I hate theives. I've never had a car stolen before. Lost a very nice satchel of tools, nav, nice head unit, very nice bike rack, etc...
I should have activated my onstar on this vehicle but???? who knows. Just sux.
Sorry, sh__ty day.

Thanx guys, I doubt I'll see again, the cop said almost no chance, where it was taken, how it was taken (no signs of forced entry).
These LS powered vehicles are in just too high a demand in the after market as we know from watchin these "theft" threads.....

You might Mike. I had a Yukon XL nabbed a couple of years ago. They took the stereo and wheel/tire package, some interior parts and an exterior mirror. Plus everything I had stored inside ($$$). A week and half later I got the call. Aparently it was left stripped on a residential street 30 miles away.
Good luck Sir!

Be happy - buy new.
You don't want the SOB back - ever...
Your loss is good for the economy - think about all the new Sh!t you have to buy... so you're helping out lots of hard working Americans.
Of course I'm just giving you a hard time -- but it is what it is.
Was with a buddy at a car show - we had dropped off his rare Defender 90 at the dealership for service the day before... he gets a call from them -- "do you know where your car is?" He says -- "No, Don't you".... Nope -- someone had nabbed if from the dealers lot!
They found the truck months later at a chop shop - or I should say they found parts of it. In the meantime the insurance had bought him a new one.

That's a fact Greg. I took the ins money, fixed my car and sold it ASAP. Keeping it is bad juju.

Exactly Greg, it's just a steed, now its a contaminated one, "just check the car fax " comes too mind.....but yeah, now I get to buy a better Garmin, head unit, tools etc....not to mention "pulling vehicle"....

Mike,
I know it's an LS and all, but it would still slow the LORD way down.
:D
So, to replace it, would you look for a super clean TBSS...or ?
Also, I know a few Saabs had that motor too ... if they appeal to you.

The Saab is nice, and yes same driveline but other service items come into play and the lack of parts and dealer network (none lol) make that a no.
May wait a few, see how this plays out with State Farm and get a used Cayenne GTS, maybe. Want to drive one first.
My TBSS was super clean with a coilover kit on it and real nice sound system, still bummed, but like it says on a post-it on my computer "I dont always like His will, but His will be done..."
so we'll see....

The Saab 97x is still serviceable at any GM dealership. And parts are still available.

On the Cayenne, look for 2 Major things; #1 Coolant Pipe (Plastic into Aluminum and #2 Driveshaft.

The deputy in LA (norwalk) looked at me (once he found out it was a TBSS) and shook his head, he knows. Sux but yeah, the same can be said for around here. I'm mostly in the trivalley area and its pretty quiet for the most part, but no doubt these things are marked!!!

What's so special about the TBSS that makes it such a target? LS2 equippied aren't that hard to find. Is the TBSS just particularly easy to steal or something?

Probably. Sure was a nice daily driver though. Had a suspension kit on it and a nice sound system, i liked to refer to it as my four door vette....but thats all in the past now....

They are pretty quick SUV's, that's for sure.

Not sure yet. Gonna just buy a little Ford ranger in the mean time for gas mileage for work for my sales calls and might just sell my coach and boat (i just dont use it much anymore). Thinkin about a Cayenne GTS and maybe a Airstream tow behind for the camping, but the jury's still out on the coach sale, its older (2000) but it towed the Camaro so well, i'm just not sure what to do.....
