Just wanted to start saying hi to everyone. Im new here. i was wondering what arer the biggest size wheels i can put on my stock 63 vette. If i can go bigger with susp mods then what mods are required? thanks

not so much a suspension issue as there is just no room in the wheelwells for big stuff.
ours (1967 convertible)has 15x6's with 215/70's, and it's pretty much done.

gunmspec,
If you use an aftermarket "offset" trailing arm you can fit an 8" wheel in the rear of a 1963-67 Corvette. The wheel diameter (17" in your case) doesn't matter as much as the diameter / height of the tire. I've seen a 1963 SWC with offset trailing arms fit 20x8 wheels with 225/30R20 (25.5" tall) tires. Many of the resto-mod guys use the stock 245/45R17 (25.7" tall) C5 front tires on the rear of their cars.
This is a huge topic over on the Corvette Forum, may I suggest searching "17 wheel" in the C1-C2 area.

Corvette Forum - Really!!!
There's a trick for making a narrowed de-arched rear spring to get it dropped down I've seen done before. Disregard if it's common knowledge as I'm not a Corvette guy but wanted to make sure if you w ere going up in wheel diameter that you went down in ride height because wheels and stance are everything! Good luck and be sure to send pics!
