Hey guys. I'm a young'n building a 1973 Plymouth Scamp.

While in college, me and my dad started looking for a entry level classic. At the time, we didn't know much about A-body Mopar's, because my dad has had a B-body or two in the past. We started looking for a Dart or Duster to get me started with classic cars. While looking around, one of our friends told us that his cousin has a '72 Scamp with a built up slant-6 sitting around it pretty good condition. We immediately went to look at it. After seeing how clean the car was, we picked it up pretty cheap. It had tiny black steelies and has a kind of old school look to it. I thought it was pretty cool looking and believed it to be a '72. After posting it on my page, somebody told me that it was a '73, but a '72. I didn't realize this when purchasing, but it was what it was. I still loved the car, so this changed nothing.
The car was originally from Hawaii. It's a 225 slant-6 car with an A-904 transmission. The former owner had took it to another level as well. He put a big Racer Brown cam, rebuilt it completely, worked the heads, offenhauser 4-barrel intake, long tube headers, and more. The car still wasn't quick by any means, but it wasn't super slow. I drove it for a few months and quickly put 2,000 miles on it. At the beginning of Winter I let it get hot on accident and blew two rings in it.
My dad had a '72 Satellite that he bought with a '71 340 in it. He built it up a little with a Weiand intake, Demon 750cfm carb, big cam(can't remember the brand) and replaced all of the gaskets and all. After getting it running perfect, he decided to swap in a 440 that he built up to about 550 horsepower. Since then we've had nothing but problems with the hot motor, but the 340 has been sitting around waiting for a new home. We decided to go ahead and swap the 340 since the leaning tower of power needed rebuilt anyways.
After thinking about it, we thought this would be the best time to paint it and have a nice looking engine bay. There was trash in the paint in places and rust popping through at the corners of the back windows, so as projects go, I decided to do it all. It's a big undertaking, but I thought it was the right time. After that's done, I plan on getting the 340 in and possibly doing some suspension work to make it a corner carver like all of the amazing builds on this site.
I plan on going with Hotchkis suspension and Wilwood brakes all around to make it work well. I hope to eventually do more, but I'm on such a budget that it's kind of hard to manage that. Here's a few pictures of my car along the timeline. I hope you guys like it! I may be young, but I'm learning and trying to keep up with all of the knowledgeable guys like you!

I'm trying to get the paintwork done, but it's getting done right and taking some time. I can't wait to get it finish though! I'm struggling whether to keep this cheap and just drive it how it's gonna be, or to go ahead and buy the Hotchkis suspension and Wilwood brakes. I'm struggling on what to do.
I'm curious what you guys think I should do. Should I go ahead and go all out, or should I wait for the next build?
