Well, after some grovelling I managed to get Kip to send me out one of his firewall-flush kits for A-Bodys. I know that they're already sponsors of Lateral-g but I was really impressed with the way I was treated via emails and phone calls which inspired me to post this. Super nice people with a lot of great things to come. I will probably do the install next weekend (this one's packed) and have full color photos including end results for you all to see on my website. So, if you haven't already, give their website a browse and rest assured you'll be taken care of.

Cool, Keith. I'll agree, dealing with Kip and company over at MetalWorks Performance has been a real treat.

I just finished with the Kit and was happy. Saved me time and money. Kit makes it easy .. didn't have to think much. I started to smooth the original firewall without welding in new sheet metal ... way to much filler was required. Order kit .. easy install (and I suck at welding - novice). Kip and Metal works have continued to try and answer all of my beginner questions. It will end up looking like a professional job. Thanks!

I used one from Kip also. This is most recent pic I had. It worked good so far I got a little bow in it but with fenders on won't be a problem.

Kip spent some time with me on the phone walking me through this and other aspects .. things are turning out great with the firewall kit. I'ts my first try at this so I feel pretty happy things are looking as good as they are ... just to help I've included a before picture - and then a picture of the kit now 90% done I'm working out some small details on it and prepping the whole car for paint.... I'll post a final shot after paint.

I used the kit and modifyed it some but over all it was fairly straight forward, fit great ( especially considering the factory build tolerance) and the people at MWPE were a pleasure to deal with.

Looks good to me, Does this kit for the early A bodies.
I wish I knew about this when I shaved my firewall.
