im getting ready to order a third member for my for 9inch. I don't know much about a ford 9 inch and need some help. like most. its going in a 69 Camaro with a quadralink, low geared t56 and a 600hp ls. im looking at a quick performance strange nodular case, with 370 gears and a true trac, don't now which pinion support or yolk to run. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks !

I'd run a billet steel daytona pinion support and a billet steel 1350 yoke at that power level.

that's what I was leaning tword, thanks for the input. im running moser axles , will they be ok with a strange center section? also do you think that aluminum Yukon housing would be better?

The moser axles with the Strange center will be fine as long as the spline count is the same. I don't like aluminum center sections for street cars. The thermal expansion tends to create gear noise. If it's a track car where the weight really matters than yeah, aluminum is the way to go.

is there a gasket that I should use between the third member and housing or should I just silicone it?

LOL..that's been a debate for years. I have always used a gasket with a very light coating of RTV on both sides. That usually worked for me until the last time I assembled my 9". It developed a slow drip from the gasket. Almost like it was weeping through the paper. I'm just getting ready to install my new center section and I think I am going to try it just with RTV this time. Also be sure and use the copper washers on the studs. They help keep any fluid from leaking past the threads.
