View Full Version : Want to be on TV with your car?
How’s that for bait? Well, it’s real. The Ultimate Street Car Association [USCA] is holding it's 2nd in a series of 10 events on March 21-23 at Texas Motor Speedway. This event will be filmed for a new TV series called the Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car. Here is more info on how to enter:
http://ultimatestreetcarassociation.com/events/fort-worth-tx-march-21-23/
In addition…the Ft. Worth Goodguys autocross is going on this coming weekend,March 14-16. LOTS of fun and track time at Goodguys running with some of thebest cars and people in the country!
RideTech is going to help you get to both events…and here is how:
Step 1.Enter your car to participate the whole weekend at both events:
USCA - http://ultimatestreetcarassociation.com/events/fort-worth-tx-march-21-23/

Step 2.Register to become part of RideTech Nation: http://www.ridetech.com/info/2014/03/get-paid-to-win/

You’ll need to do an event report to RideTech Nation to get your gift certificate. AND…If you end up placing in the top 3 on any category…you will also get a CHECK from the RideTech Nation contingency program!

Just enter your Goodguys registration number in the Paypal comment line and USCA will refund you $150 from you entry fee.
We will be at both events with displays and decal packages so be sure to come out and have some FUN!

What a bargain. :G-Dub:
Chris, you should bring your car out for the USCA event. The format is like the Vegas event, but since its over 2 days its much more relaxed...not as frantic as Vegas. AND...you get all kinds of track time, not just the 3 hot laps like Vegas. Since you have an unusual car, AND were a former OUSCI participant, I'd bet you'll get some camera time as well. [unless you signed a non-compete for USA Today :) ]

Bret, thanks for posting the details of the USCA discount for those attending both the GG's and USCA events at TMS. As Chris mentions it is a bargain. I emailed Jimi today and he had me re-register for next weekends event and honored the discount since I had registered prior to the promotion being announced. I owe you a beer...or three!
I talked with a bunch of people at the Texas Goodguys event this past weekend. If they all come that said they would it'll be a full field. I know there are some good ones already signed up...Finch is bringing his Camaro, I think Albert Melchior is bringing a car, Greg Schneider is bringing our 66 Chevelle, I'll be driving the 48 Hour Camaro, 3 DSE cars will be there, Brian Hobaugh's Camaro, Chris Smith's C10 truck...all hard running cars.
Danny Popp will also be there with the Lingenfelter L28 Camaro. After its great showing at Laguna last week, we're doing some strut, shock and alignment refinements on it here in Jasper this week in preparation to be the fastest Gen 5 Camaro on the track again this weekend
I almost forgot...our buddy Aaron Kaufmann is bringing his 63 Falcon. You can get a preview of it tonite on Fast N Loud. We're doing a TQ shock upgrade on it this week so he can get fast this weekend. I can post pictures after tonite.
Post em up guys...who else is coming?

The TA is not going to make it but I'll be out there in the 69 Camaro to get some much needed seat time. :headspin:

Your car ran great last weekend! I think your stance and build style appeals to a lot more people than my "racecar" appearing 48 HR car does...its classy and refined. I am going for that look with my upcoming 69 Z...maybe even more subtle...just spindles, Tru Turn, and shocks. It'll look like a restored Z with Minilite wheels, but drive like a Mercedes.
You'll get some camera time this weekend....they are looking for grassroots guys with real street cars [they've already seen most of the "hitters"] Plus Chad is an early Camaro freak...he'll chat you up on camera or off :)
Now...who's got an equivelent Mustang? Or Challenger? Or Gen 5 Camaro? We've got some cool Gen 5 struts to demonstrate to you :)
Remember, the point is to come and have fun. That's how you win.

The best event of the year is only 4 miles from my house and I cant play. Think we can get enough people together to "push" my car around the track? Probably couldnt do any worse than I did at OUSCI. I'll install the sub woofer and play engine sounds over the stereo.

Just because the car is broke doesn't mean you can't come and watch/help. We like your car...we LOVE you :)
I do believe USCA is still looking for volunteers to help as cone workers and tech inspection assistants. If I remember they are offering to feed you and supply a handsome T shirt. It may not be union scale...but its fun work. Show up at the track and tell someone you want to help...they won't turn you away.

Thanks Bret! I am having a blast with this car and as you mention, it's just fun to be out there and participate. I really appreciate the comments. My daily driver is a C55 AMG and that too was my goal when I built the car. Turn better, go faster and have better AC and stereo (since they both suck in the Merc) than the C55 without sacrificing the ride. If I could just figure out how to repel rain and dirt on a black car...:lostmarbles: :lmao:

Bret, I have a buddy with a nicely modified 5th gen similar to my 69 that is registered for this weekends event at TMS if you want to "demo" those struts. Send me a PM if you want more info or have an interest in connecting with him to talk about your 5th gen struts.
