I have watched some of the 17" tire line up disappear and with the new 'vette's and Camaro's running 19" up front I have a feeling 18" is going to die off for street tires, say BFG KDW. I hate the thought of bigger rims and the rotating mass. Need 18's for the front brakes. I would run 14"s if I could.

I do need OD off rim and tire info to put into my suspension software. So, do I give up on 18" now?

I'd bet the 18" tire sizes will be around for years, years, and years yet.

If you run a factory vette or viper etc. size, it will stay around.

There are a zillion performance tire offerings in 18" and plenty of factory cars that will need them for a long time in the future. 18" rims are also lighter than 19-20" remember.....

Plus 19/20" tires are simply stupid expensive for anything decent.

chose the rim diameter on the performance tires available for your activity....for example for me, I would go 18" because the tires I run for track days and autocross do not come in a compatible size in a 19"...18's will be around for a while because it is the most popular size for the highest performance tire makers.......even the NEW 2015 Z28 gets down sized to a 18" wheel and tire combo from factory for performance

I vote 18 front, 19 rear. : )
