I had a chance to go with a group of local guys, but I've been traveling internationally a lot for work and have too much to catch up on around home - and need to spend some time with the family.

Still wish I could make it up to see everyone though.

Have fun!

I have heard the Riviera from JF in Canada and a 32 4 door sedan are the strong contenders this year. I have only seen build pics, nothing with them on the Cobo Hall floor yet.

I too lent a hand on JF's Riv. Hopefully my assistance makes all the difference.

considering some of the amazing cars that have won Ridler in the past few years...this Great 8 seems a little weak to me...all really beautiful cars dont get me wrong...but nothing that could compete with some of the past winners. These look more closer to SMOTY candidates then Ridlers

On the Riv...is that the air intake in the center of the windshield? wtf :confused59:

looks like it goes up the windshield, up the headliner, down the back window then into the trunk. That must sound cool at full throttle.

No disrespect to any of the builders or the cars. But it looks like a fairly soft field for the Ridler compared to other years.

Not that I could build any of them to that levee of quality.

The Riv has twin turbos mounted under the rear glass. There is a air to water intercooler then it runs up that headliner duct to the throttle body. It sounds like a cross between a jet engine and an iron lung. Very cool.
Thanks for all the pics.
