I think they did a great job, covered a lot for just a one hour show, and less commercials than most shows have.

I thought it was a pretty damn good show. Congrats to Brian, again.
Overall I thought caliber of video capture was very good and the producer did a good job packaging it. The number of clips they packed into one hour was a lot of editing work. I'm thinking they could make a two hour feature out of the event pretty easy.
I went to the local pub and scored a private viewing area to watch it since Comcast doesn't carry MavTV.

It was well produced, and they did squeeze a lot into the hour,
I could see a prequel show that leads up to the race day, maybe with some back ground stories or coverage of the other event competitors and the trials there, remember there are about 41 cars at the event this year, and the only showed about 15 or so

For the general public (Consumer), I don't think they could keep their attention with the less flashy, fast cars. Watching a car go around the racetrack at Sunday driver pace just isn't that exciting. Take out your own personal knowledge of the event and competitors and I think that gets more apparent.
I do agree that they could've built up the story with Brian and his Dad and really knocked it out of the park.

there were lots of things going on Matt busted his steering rack and trashed to get it together, One lap Camaro lost steering all together and with the help of DSE they put another pump in(good story), Yep the Brian back story, the Danny Popp and Brian race against each other history they spent extra mins show Jimi and friends walking around SEMA giving out golden wild card tickets with staged dialog.
overall I think they did great

I have a feeling a lot of that will be fixed in the new series. We should see lots of story over 10 episodes.
I would have preferred more time on the actual race and less jumping around but as has been covered already here, we would have lost the general public. The show just needs more time. Get the audience emotionally involved and they'll stay to watch their favorites race. Its the American Idol model. If they institute a "text in to vote" portion, I might have stood a chance at winning something. LOL
On a completely separate side note, did anyone catch that killer Maverick running the while Brett was talking about the autocross. :hello:

I missed it. I can't find on their website if it's going to be re-aired or not.

I thought this episode was the best one so far and you can tell they keep learning from the previous and make changes.
This was shot by they great folks at BCII so will be curious to see how the new series will look since the production will be shot by the internal teams at MavTv. Also no Bill Goldberg on the new series.

Your coverage turned out great Brian. I like Bill, he's a kick to watch.

They are showing it again later this week, thurs and friday
Go to Mavtv website and it gives the times
I watched it with a bunch of Pantera buddies and was
surprised at how much air time the Pantera got...
They showed a lot of footage of everyone in short amount
of time... They just touched on Brian, his dad and Danny
so most of us knew what was going on but I think more
time would have been better to develop that story
I think the series will have more time to develop the final
at Vegas this year

I missed why they said Finch wasn't going to do it next year?

He's fallen in love with off road racing. He mentioned it at the Lat-G party last year that he may stop doing the car stuff and pursue the trucks. His face lit up talking about it, definitely has a passion and should do well.
