Just watched this tonight, that was a REALLY GOOD movie!! I would recommend it to anyone that likes racing/cars etc.
After googling the "real" history, I came across this site and it shows alot of the real story along with pictures. I'm amazed at how well the actors resemble the real people.

Yes it's pretty strong. Those guys look just like the real deal. Some great sounds and images too. At the beginning there's a camera pan over of a port injector on a running engine. The fuel is just kinda dancing over the intake tubes. Looks incredible. I enjoyed it.

Yep!! Def a buyer!! We rented it a week or two ago and both the Wife and I thought it was a great movie! After boobie shot number two or three (or was it four?) she did turn to me and say "Didn't you say this was a Ron Howard movie?" like he was still the kid from Happy Days! Lol!
It was an interesting twist that in the end it really was Nikki's story... With as much of an a$$hole they kept portraying him as, I kept wondering what his family thought of the movie.

That's cuz James Hunt was a Major Player!
One of the Best Racing Movies and it's a Real Story. I've always been a F-1 Fan (I've been to about Dozen F-1 Races), so I could pick apart some inaccurate moments. The 3 Lead Actors (Hunt, Hunt's Wife and Lauda) were very well cast as the were Physical Dead Ringers - none of the other Actors looked anything the Real Drivers

One of the best parts of the movie!
Watch John Frankenhiemer's Grand Prix with James Garner, I still remember the throttle body's moving then going to multi section screen, I was 7 years old, still one of my favorite films. My wife and I were some of the few to watch Rush in the theaters ( 1st movie I've been to in about 5 years ) Rush was only a few weeks in release and attendance was sparse, I think it has sealed the fate for any racing movie for many years to come....box office flop! Sad to see this, not enough intelligent people in USA to support film like this. After the film, my wife grew more interested in Lauda, I went to my den and pulled out....The Art and Science of a Grand Prix by Niki and Formula 1 in the Turbo Age not sure if she really read anything. I remember crewing for SCCA T/A team at the Ceasars Palace GP and watching the greats performing there. Remember Andretti running in the downright EVIL Ferrari 126C turbo V6 F1 car, looping that POS and powering it into a 360 degree spin and driving out of it...I was in AWE of the sheer talent exhibited by Mario that day...made me a fan for life. Lauda is one awesome competitor, the F1 driver of the modern era are SAVAGES! Senna was a true asshole, ran people off the track same thing for Schuey....not much sportsmanship there, F1 is no longer a gentleman's sport and F1 design restrictions have made my interest wane. Guess I'm getting to be an old fart

Grand Prix & McQueen's LeMans were the Highpoint of Racing Films. Watching Rush, I had the same experience, I think there were 7-8 People in the Theatre and it was only out for about a week.
I actually like Senna, hated Prost. But like Shumi, Senna was a dirty Racer at times. Most of the time he was just so much better than anyone else out there. Senna, the Documentary was a good film.

Yeah I figured this will be the last real racing movie we ever see with quality people behind it. These vintage cars aren't really going to be around 20 years from now when someone else wants to give it another go. There may be others, but this one has Ron Howard making it... That's the real deal.
I figured it would flop, and I figured we needed to enjoy it while it lasted.

To me, Senna was one of the Best Films to come out in a Long Time! I bought the DVD the 1st day it was available!

Been trying to watch this for sometime, but having a family that loves movies our opinions on what we watch has to have some commonality, so "Rush" got "shelved".
Just saw it last nite (by myself) and couldn't take my eyes off the screen, not for a second. One the best movies i've seen in a long time, may of made my top 10, dunno, only time will tell.
But to those of you who haven't seen it yet (Grand Prix fans or not) Its a great film on the differences we share, when, while being involved in a common thing, how far apart our ideas of perfection may be, yet still trying to produce the same outcome.
Great film. Watch it.
