there is a lot of history to this truck and its about a decade in the wait for a rebuild. truck was bought for me by my grandfather when i was 14, we did a bit of work to it before i was 16 when my dad brought it to a prison bodyshop to get the paint done. after that he then asked me for the 2400 dollars he had spent on stuff for the truck, well i wasn't working at the time so my parent's decided that they would take custody of the truck for the next 12 years much to my fighting and pleading to get it back. anyways after much pleading and fighting my mom turned around and gave it to my brother for helping them with some septic work (yeah my parents are AWESOME ) who then in turn gave it to me, so anyways fast foward 16 years i'm now 31 with two kids, in the military 4 deployments and finally have my truck back. sorry for the long story but its the history of the truck.

64 fleetside shortbed
factory inline 6 etc
frame is really straight, great shape and untouched
98k original miles
some minor rust spots in the bottom of one door and the bottom of the front fenders
the bodyshop at the prison did a subpar job but i'm goin to take the whole thing to metal and go from there.

my plan for it a pro-touring truck. i'm sure specs will change a 100 times but here is my plan as i have it so far.

427 till i can get my ls3 block built
t56
full float 9"
as much No-limits suspension as i can afford
brakes
cage
black on black on black

etc etc, planning to do as much work myself as i can, barring time. i'm still active duty so my time is limited as it is especially with a family. there won't be a ton of updated yet to this as I'm finishing up a 71 bronco that has been a 4.5 year project but figured i would start it. Great site you guys and i've been enjoying it a ton. i'm a absolute gear head and love all your amazing cars.

thanx guys i'm about 80 percent done with my 71 bronco (well we all know they are never "done"). So i am starting to look up parts for the ol c10, first real big things I want to knock out is to now find a t56, rear end and drop the frame off with no-limits. That will probably be later this year when i can dig up a few grand, lol. Just got my miller 211 in so sheet metal work to begin soon.

That inline 6 looks so small in the engine bay of the truck. Wow! I'd turbo that thing and let it rip! :D

Good luck with the car and truck

so a buddy of mine just offered me a 454 with th400 for free, can't say no to free stuff i'm debating wether to make the camaro or the c10 a 496 big block monster. Still want to go tremec in both of em but a free big block might be fun.

so finally got around to picking up the BBC, now to figure out how to build it. going to stick with the LS in the camaro but figure a BB in the c10 isn't a bad idea. How would you build it? plan is to put it in front of a magnum but would you guys do it different?

454 block dropped off with milidon splayed mains, the block ended up being a 2 bolt really low mile block. Why a big block? just cuz i feel like it :guns:

Ordering 300cc oval port AFR's this week, hopefully a big order from no-limit while i'm gone on this deployment.

I'm deployed currently and with nothing better to do i played out what i'm thinking for the rest so far, getting prices kinda figured out so i can start budgeting out big purchases. thanx for encouragement, lol after building my bronco i am sick of buying things twice so a good build plan i can look at helps at least with me. especially with budget. now do i think i can afford a 8000 dollar hill born system ANYTIME soon? hell no but a carb and intake is a few hundred bucks till i can. BUT i will get the no-limit stuff as soon as i can afford it along with the t56, hopefully early next year. :G-Dub:
