OK, who is in for a road trip? Who wants to join the Rat Pack? Who wants to hang with the cool kids? Mark you calenders now. On or about July 25, several of the rat pack will leave East Tn, head across the country to Reno, Nevada. We will be happy to have you join us at any point on the trip. Other than hotel rooms and gas, there is no cost to participate in the epic road trip, however, you might as well go ahead and fill out this application (http://www.hotaugustnights.net/pages.php?var=2014-application) because this will be our destination. And yes, there will be a new ASCS venue at the 2014 Hot August Nights that you will want to be part of too that will just be added value for participating in the event. Registration also gets you in at the Barrett Jackson auction going on that week too. So plan you vacation now for a solid week of fun, get your Rat Pack status and have the car event time of your life. For those of you that get Autoweek, last week they said this event was one of three must attend events for car guys and is the only one in the USA. The other two were Lemans and Monaco F1, so we at ASCS are excited about being part of this event now. More details on that coming but we wanted everyone to have a heads up so they can make their plans now.

I'm also thinking about meeting you in Reno, though I won't be driving out to Tennessee first. :D

Hotels in Reno book fast for that time. Do we have a host hotel?

Probably the Eldorado for a group rate. I will have that info later this week. The new venue will be an autocross at HANs. It will be included in the registration price for the event. Jody, Charley and others, we will probably do a day cruise from SF or somewhere close to Reno on Tuesday for those that want a mini road trip with friends. Oh, Jody, you could meet us anywhere along the way, how about Kansas???? lol

You could do a day cruise to Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley or Virginia City.

If you knew any kool people -- you could get them up to see Tom Gloy... He's in Lake Tahoe.

Take a little road trip around part of the lake and have dinner at The Black Bear Tavern.

The Eldorado sucks -- book some rooms at The Atlantis....

I agree with Greg book at the Peppermill, Atlantis, or even the GSR. Anything downtown is terrible and no parking if you have a truck and trailer. Yeah Yeah "Trailer" is the naughty F word but you can't always pack a weeks gear and a family in the back of a 69 Camaro or a new Brizio Built 33 (ha ha we all wish we had that car). Also a cruise to SF is not a day trip. Its nearly 4.5 hours one way to SF to Reno. Cruise around Lake Tahoe great drive with great little stops.

They offer (HAN) trailer parking... it's an extra cost but not bad. The problem was (not sure if it's the same or not) that it was in a dirt lot! So if you parked and unloaded - your car was FILTHY in about 10 feet. So plan to unload somewhere else and then go park your trailer.

They have motorhome parking and hookups at The Grand Sierra... IF you can get a spot.

The Atlantis has a HUGE parking lot across the street from the hotel where all the show cars park... it's right across the street from the auction....You can walk to a Ralphs grocery store... and you can walk up to the PepperMill which is a nice stroll in the evening.

Any of you car people that have not been to Hot August Nights it is a must do. There are over 5000 cars cruising and it is all over town. I have been going every year and it is a blast. I prefer out at the Atlantis because of it's night time cruise and it is so close to the auction. It is more expensive than downtown though and rooms go quickly. The Grand Sierra Resort used to be the MGM and it is huge with probably 1500 cars in it's car parking area. I think they have several thousand rooms. Get your rooms early.

Bill,

A few questions ...
a. Where will the AutoX be held?
b. What day is AutoX?
c. Is the Autox event coordinated with HANS as part of their event? And is it open to all HANS registered attendees?

Thanks.

You could do a day cruise to Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley or Virginia City.

We have something brewing.

One idea is very ambitious but would be spectacular. The alternative is still going to be pretty great.

Do you have a route planned out yet to where someone could jump in from midwest, Already planned on going there on a plane, But a drive wont be bad
